Description

Forza Motorsport for PC is the equivalent of Forza Motorsport 8, but is more of a reboot of the original game than a follow-on: hence the name having no number next to it. It is a car racing simulation video game.

About the Game

This new game features more than 500 cars with 800 upgrades (upgrades must be earned being unique to each car and earned through spending time in the car and clocking up XP), including some from every age of vehicle racing (80 from all eras) and 100 of these are new to the game.

Once you open up the game, you can participate in an Open Practice to learn the track and practice with their car, then go to the Challenge the Grid menu where you can customise your starting position, opponent difficulty, and more to challenge yourself and increase potential rewards. While pole position seems to be the best place to start, there are rewards for starting further back, so be sure to check those out before you decide.
When you’re ready, you'll race against an array of AI ‘Drivatars’ (which are new and improved and – importantly – play fair!) in the Featured Race. Once this loop has been completed, you can customize your car before moving onto the next race. Right from the beginning, you will be able to access four DLC packs.

The Builders’ Cup allows you to get hands on and go overboard with customising your car, even beyond the bounds of common sense! There is a plethora of fixes, boosts and cool gadgetry to invest in – or you can just press ‘Quick Upgrade’ and let the CPU do it all for you.
The Builders’ Cup is all about developing a relationship with each car you drive — you'll slowly learn the limits of every car as you drive and tweak them, and be able to steadily improve those cars with new upgrades and parts as your experience increases. The Builders’ Cup is divided into several themed tours, and each tour has a wide array of series.

Series highlight a handful of specific, all quite similar, vehicles. You choose one of these and take it through the whole series, aiming to win the championship with your chosen vehicle. As the Series progress, you'll learn more about the history of your car and how to get the most out of it. The series follow the ‘Level, Build, Dominate’ that is Forza Motorsport's motto.
Instead of qualifying, there's a mandatory practice session where you have to turn a minimum of three laps and hit a relatively generous target time. This can be really enjoyable, taking out the stress of qualification in favour of the sheer pleasure in driving laps.

The Nitty Gritty

Gameplay is hugely improved from the previous version, with driving feeling much more realistic and tactile. Rather than simple lap times or even section times, the game evaluates laps on a corner-by-corner basis, giving players metrics on exactly where they were faster or slower than before, and directions on how to improve.
This also ties into the move away from simple leaderboards, encouraging players to improve where they can by competing with one another in real time. Finally, endurance racing is a big new interest in the game. Players can practice and qualify for endurance races when it's convenient for them, and then return for the main event alongside other players.
There are also major improvements to tire compounds, tire wear, fuel consumption, pit management, and other simulation elements, as well as redesigns of the online multiplayer experience. Other modes include (online) multi-player mode and free play.

There are 20 environments, each featuring multiple track layouts. Five new locations are featured, including South Africa’s Kyalami for the first time. Environments are detailed with lifelike vegetation, 3D spectators, and dynamic time of day, weather and track temperatures for verisimilitude. These weather factors will affect your racing, so pay attention to them.
Look out for the following track locations for Forza Motorsport: Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans (Le Mans), Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Hakone, Kyalami, Laguna Seca, Maple Valley, Silverstone Circuit, Suzuka Circuit, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Virginia International Raceway.

Some Improvements

Some of the improvements in this game include:

  • New tyre compounds, including soft, medium, and hard options, with unique wear and handling characteristics. Players will be able to change tyres mid-race while in the pit.

  • Major improvements to fuel consumption and other endurance racing elements.

  • Curbs feel more natural and smoother, with tyres feedback delivering more information to players.

  • Track and tyre temperature, and how it relates to grip, pressure, and wear, as well as other environmental factors that affect handling and driving.

  • Suspension changes show the way cars respond to various inputs and force, including anti-dive, anti-roll, force propagation, and more.

  • Forza Motorsport for PC is available for purchase on Instant Gaming for a fraction of its retail price. You will receive an official key and be able to play the game in seconds. Play smart. Pay less.

One of the worst Forza releases, their marketing team did a great job to overshadow the actual state of the game. Payed for the Premium version but it's unplayable still, I can't believe they willingly released such a bug fest product.

lets just call it a simcade game. Not to the point where it is a simulator, but it is not an arcade racing game.

Nonetheless happy with with the game, great ffb (im using fanatec wheelbase and wheel) .

Game is ok, was a bit of a mess on release day but is slowly getting updates and a few annoying bugs/features reworked.

If you are a racing fan, grab it. if you are a casual driver that enjoys Forza Horizon, skip this.

    • Graphics are nice
    • Good range of cars and tracks
    • Game audio is decent but could still use a bit of work
    • Current level up system
    • Ai Drivers are programmed to be destruction derby
    • Online is pretty toxic

Full bugs, crashes, save corruption since day one, I have never seen such unplayable game sold at this huge price.

Game crash on Xbox series X at every race since day one.

Support is non-existent : closing all ticket with zero solutions.

This is an alpha sold full price what could go wrong.

Gameplay's alright but grows very boring - very quickly.

Vehicle physics are also pretty bad.

This game was a real bust advertising ray-traced reflections and all those fancy graphics... Developers really like to think gamers care about graphics more than actual gameplay and it's mechanics.

My immersion was quickly shattered when I switched into first person and saw that the rear view mirrors were low-definition reflections you'd find in a game that came out in 2001.

The "in-game footage" is false advertisement - showing a cinematic trailer rather than actual gameplay.

    I hate modern-gaming.

    • Go play Gran Turismo instead or BeamNG
    • Stop paying 100$ for games.
    • Have common sense.
    • "Realistic" graphics.
    • Exterior mirrors have no reflections
    • Interior mirrors have low-definition reflections.
