If you are getting bored with the base game this DLC is what you need.

It adds new things to do and you'll definitely have fun while playing Elite Dangerous again.

I wont say that this feels like another game but it's definitely a really good upgrade.

When this DLC was released it wasn't really good because of bugs and performance issues, but during the first months FDEV fixed almost everything and since then it's definitely playable.
Those posting positive reviews have no idea what they are fully talking about or fully realize the kind of company Frontier is.

Frontier does not care at all about its players and possible player bases.

They do not listen one single bit to feedback,

The CEO and creator of the game doesn't listen to anything or anyone but himself as he is just a typical like-minded narcissist in it for his own gain and to feed his ego.

For how many years have they left their base game and DLC horizon untouched and complaints about

problematic players ruining the online (open) sessions by camping out the starter station for newcomers making them quit the open game and only play in closed with friends or solo.

Even when I was part of the fuel ratts these problematic players would pray on anyone sending out an S.O.S on the IIRC channel - vent - Teamspeak channels.

They wouldn't attack anyone close to their level cause of how fearful and arrogantly stupid they are. This is the kind of garbage frontier that enables along with the snowflakes and intellectually retarded like-minded stereotypes they are trying to appeal towards.

This DLC has a lot of issues.

Planet ground combats some planets it is broken where no NPCS will appear. At times you will fall through the surface of the planet and end up floating in space which in turn will kill you.

Then you have poor shading and brightness issues depending on the monitor.

Frontier made sure the DLC detects your monitor and VGA.

Since I have both a 1070ti and 1080ti apparently having a gaming monitor without their special kind of HDR options will suffer shader and brightness issues

Thargoids will appear darker than space itself and it will make it difficult to see them.

Certain planets will appear much more darker with no contrast whatsoever.

My VGA cards are fine but guess having a 4K monitor without frontiers bs neediness.

Not to mention the custom voice commands and certain full throttle rudder combos

and or VR settings will not always work. I have an old saitek logitec full throttle rudder set with either the classic Mechwarrior style or the old-school flight control combo. back in the days of crimson skies and janes WW II fighters.

the controls can be set up just takes a good while cause the game usually always seems to stop detecting the rudder peddles and detects them as a game pad controller.

Same with steam now they updated it detects it as an... PS5 controller
  • Fun to play with friends
  • Still offers a endless option to mine - explore or hunt with friends or family
  • Frontier
It’s been along time since I’ve played this game, and I didn’t know they had first person, planet, side capabilities. A much much much better improvement since the last time I tried like two years ago better than no man’s sky in a certain sense if you like the realism.
The big problems at release are mostly fixed. Especially the performance on planetary stations has improved a lot. (20FPS->60FPS RTX2080)

The on-foot gameplay is a lot of fun, especially with friends. Sometimes it can get a bit chaotic though. The Frontline Solutions battles were somehow particularly enjoyable.
Key Worked games always been pretty awesome cant wait to check out the other content if you like star citizen then you will most likely enjoy elite dangerous just as open if not more open then star citizen
