Max Payne vive il perfetto sogno americano: una bella moglie, una figlia piccola, un bel lavoro. Tutto viene stravolto quando un gruppo di criminali imbottiti di una nuovissima droga, la Valchiria, uccidono tutta la sua famiglia. Da quel giorno Max entra nella DEA e diventa un poliziotto sotto copertura infiltrato nella mafia Newyorkese.

Seppur un pochino datato come gioco, Max Payne è ancora un ottimo shooter capace di relagare diverse ore di puro divertimento ispirate direttamente dai film action di John Woo.

Il gioco è un autentico cult, il principio del TPS come lo conosciamo. Purtroppo il codice che ho acquistato è difettoso visto che mancano le musiche di gioco (ad esempio non si sente il doppiaggio nelle cutscene), cosa che ammazza l'atmosfera e l'immersività.
Max Payne è un videogioco che ho giocato e rigiocato, trovandolo a un prezzo super l'ho acquistato e rigiocato, la storia e il modo cupo con cui viene narrata dal protagonista lo rendono quasi un film da giocare. Bullett time, la grafica del tempo al top, possibilità di introdurre svariate mod lo rendono un ottimo videogame.

Max Payne resta un capolavoro videoludico con una storia avvincente resa affascinante dalla poetica di Max e dal frenetico gameplay fornito di sparatorie a rallentatore con tuffi spettacolari, il cosiddetto "Bullet Time". Consiglio il gioco a chiunque.
