Volatiles is a top-down action roguelike where each run sends you deeper into a nightmare experiment inside your own mind. Fight increasingly challenging alien hordes in arenas you create yourself. And when you fail… wake up in the cold, water-filled tank with new knowledge that might save your life next time.

Be aware - somewhere outside the nightmare, strangers in a covert lab are watching closely. And whatever is growing in your mind is learning how to take control.

Every run begins with a single tile. Fight through alien hordes, gather experience, and place new pieces of the arena as you level up. Keep the battlefield open, connecting distant parts of the map and creating room to dodge, or build narrow paths that turn the swarm against itself. Never forget - every new tile changes the space you fight in.

Build smart, and your mind becomes a weapon. Build carelessly, and your own dream can turn into a nightmare.

Tiles not only define the shape of the arena - but also your build choices. Each one brings weapons, upgrades, healing, tools, defenses, or risky synergies, while also re-forming the battlefield itself. Make your choices and plan your arena to the strengths of your build. The hordes will keep coming, testing whether your choices were right.

Remember - death in the dream is not the end. Wake up inside the cold, water-filled sensory tank, unlock new abilities, strengthen your mind, and go back in with a better plan.

You wake up in a covert lab with no clear memory of how you got there. The people around you call it treatment, but every dive into the sensory tank raises more questions than answers.

Something called the Mold is buried in your mind, feeding you visions, broken memories, and battlefields that should not exist. Search for fragments of the truth between runs, listen carefully to those claiming they want to help, and fight to keep your mind your own.
