Skyrim Special Edition for PC is a remastered version of the highly popular action role-playing game from Bethesda and it represents the fifth edition of the fantasy game. The Skyrim games (the Elder Scroll series) are multi award-winning games known for their open world play, immensely detailed worlds and free-form gameplay that allow the player to drive the action, and to a certain extent, the story.

About the Game

Alduin the World Eater is the central antagonist in this game, a massive dragon who is prophesied to end the world. The action takes place in the world of Skyrim, specifically in the northernmost province of Tamriel. The player must work to increase his or her characters strengths and abilities, while working their way across the map.

There is no urgency to complete the main story arc, so players can explore the whole map and focus on character building before returning to pick up the threads of the storyline and work to defeat Alduin.

What to Do

The player can play from a first-person or third-person perspective, exploring the richly detailed world which includes wilderness areas, towns and cities – both large and small, fortresses and small rural villages. Players can fast travel to cover large distances quickly, or they can ride horses to explore regions fairly quickly but in detail.

While the storyline can be ignored until the player is ready to continue along that path, some quests do rely on the story having progressed a certain amount, so players might need to dip in and out of narrative play if they want to solve quests in a certain order.

You can, if you want to, race to complete the story arc to ensure that all the areas are unlocked, and then go back and do some explorations.
Whichever way you choose to play, the game is highly deserving of many hours’ attention as you explore, quest and battle your way through the intensely detailed land.

The Importance of Being NPC

NPCs (non-playing characters) are largely interactive and players can choose to befriend, romance and marry, fight with and even kill them. Some NPCs are important to the storyline and cannot be killed until they have played their part, while others can be killed, but their death then locks some of the content from the player: clues and information that they would have offered the player being inaccessible after their demise.

Behaving in an immoral way – killing NPCs etc – can rachet up your infamy, and putting a bounty on your head. Should you be stopped by guards when there is a price on your head, you can be jailed, pay a handsome fine (or bribe) in gold to prevent this, or you can resist arrest, running away and evading the guards.

This last action will, however, trigger a vigorous pursuit on the part of the guards, and may make life a bit exciting for your character until they can get out of their range.

Three DLCs for You

The Special Edition comes with access to three DLC story arcs, as follows:

  • Dawnguard: Join or resist the Vampire uprising. Lord Harkon, a vampire lord, wants to use an Elder Scroll to darken the sun, thereby allowing vampires to roam the world freely, at any time, night or day

  • Hearthfire: Perfect for those who love crafting, this DLC lets you build yourself a home, from a basic one-room shack, all the way up to the most sumptuous mansion. Using crafting stations and work benches to your hearts’ content, and then, once your home is ready, adopt some children to make the house into a real home

  • Dragonborn: Travel off the Morrowind to the island of Solstheim where you will meet your deadliest adversary ever: the Dragonborn. The Dragonborn have the body of mortals but the souls of Dragons and they are thought to be the only beings who can defeat Alduin. The fate of the world (and yourself) lies in the outcome of this encounter!

  • Skyrim Special Edition for PC is available for purchase on Instant Gaming for a fraction of its retail price. You will receive an official key and be able to play the game in seconds. Play smart. Pay less.

I really really like this game. The graphic is so nice. The story is very interesting. Must try this game with your friends. Together, let play this game and feel it. I'm sure that is the game of top ten.

Legendary game. I'm writing a long review because instant gaming wants it but really, what can I say that anybody's not aware of ? Insane longevity, good stories and characters, incredible gameplay and design. A game from 2011 which still holds up to this day, and with mods it's even better. Would recommend buying the special edition for people who will buy this game for the first time, since the review here is for the original (also called Oldrim). Do no buy the anniversary edition but the special edition.

Best RPG of its decade, so much things to do, wonderfull open world, the different archetypes available give to Skyrim an infinity of possibility for how to play the game, the three way of thief, wizzard or warrior are both pleasent to play.
    • Best RPG of all times
    • a little bit old
Love the game, this is an absolute classic RPG for me. It was basically my first RPG that I fell in love with. Once you start playing the game it pulls you right inside an action. The world is really pretty and exploring it feels really good.

    • Bugs, but can be solved by installing Unofficial patch which I really recommend

Great game if you are a fan of adventurous games and exploring the open world. Very interesting story and I recommend it to everyone that loves Elder Scrolls franchise. This is the best Elder Scrolls game no doubt.
One of my favourite games of all times, been playing it for 11 years now!

If you're into adventure games, action and tons of dialogues I recommend it

It's even more interesting now with all the mods available :) online
Incredible, Amazing, Beautiful and Best of the entire saga of Elder Scrolls. Immortal and eternal always great to play it even after all this time. Subline gameplay and storytelling.Long live Tamriel and long live the Emperor!
Still one of the best game ever made... The atmosphere of the game is brilliant. The developer team probably invested a lot of work in making the quests, therefore you want to do most of the quests as soon as possible.
This is the game i play for years.. I started playing this game on 2014 and still playing 2022..

I remember my first quest on xbox 360.. it was so satisfying to see console like this run the game that good!

Listen, if you're doubting whether to purchase a game here, don't. Great games, great prices, great service. I just bought Skyrim: Anniversary Edition for like 13 bucks. Just added to Steam and putting on my Deck as I write this. Just, awesome.!
This game was, is, and will ALWAYS be ADDICTING!!!! Bought this game through IG and had a seamless purchase and stream to my account. Would Highly recommend!!!! Definitely buy if you are on the fence...

This is easily my favourite game ever. The freedom you have to do anything you want is huge and you can replay it in a lot of ways so every playthrough is different. It runs smoothly in average computers yet its still a very beautiful game.
This is the best game I have ever played I have played this game for hours now. This game is worth buying I played a few RPG games but this game is a far better RPG than I ever played I enjoy the open world.
It's difficult to ever feel completely satisfied with a play session of Skyrim. There's always one more pressing quest, one more unexplored tract of land, one more skill to increase, one more butterfly to catch. It's a mesmerizing game that draws you into an finely crafted fictional space packed with content that consistently surprises. The changes made since Oblivion are many, and result in a more focused and sensible style of play, where the effects of every decision are easily seen. Featuring the same kind of thrilling freedom of choice The Elder Scrolls series is known for along with beautiful visuals and a stirring soundtrack, playing Skyrim is a rare kind of intensely personal, deeply rewarding experience, and one of the best role-playing games yet produced.
Best game I've played. Storylines are as good as infinite and you can choose your own path. If you don't want to do the main quest you don't have to do the main quest. DLC's are also must buys if you want to enjoy some extra content.

The game is amazing. It has great story, interesting quests and numerous characters. It provides the player with many adventures to take and choices to make. Graphics and sountrack are also excellent. DLCs the pack includes are very entertaining as well. There are some smaller bugs and glitches but they can be fixed easily.

Overall, I had a great experience with this game and you probably will too.

gaming, its a game, thats for sure.

and a very good game at that.

this game features many hours of game content in the base game.

but is also the biggest modded game, so the amount of fun you can have in the game is basically infinite.

I cannot play the game on an ultrawide screen even when I try to install mods and change my prefs.ini file. I've just lost money. Cannot pass much more time on this, I will just delete the game and never try to fix it again.

Game is great. There is a lot of content to keep player engaged with the game for a long time. There is no urgency to finish the main story right from the start, you can play side missions first or just roam and explore the beautiful open world of Skyrim. Graphics are also amazing. All in all the game is awesome and I recommend it to every RPG fan.

[Skyrim opens with an Imperial wagon driving four prisoners down a snowy

mountain pass. All are seated and bound; the one dressed in finery is gagged.]

Ralof: Hey, you. You’re finally awake. You were trying to cross the border,

right? Walked right into that Imperial ambush, same as us, and that

    thief over there.

Lokir: D**n you Stormcloaks. Skyrim was fine until you came along. Empire was

nice and lazy. If they hadn’t been looking for you, I could’ve stolen

that horse and been half way to Hammerfell. You there. You and me — we

should be here. It’s these Stormcloaks the Empire wants.

Ralof: We’re all brothers and sisters in binds now, thief.

Imperial Soldier: Shut up back there!

[Lokir looks at the gagged man.]

Lokir: And what’s wrong with him?

Ralof: Watch your tongue! You’re speaking to Ulfric Stormcloak, the true High

    King.

Lokir: Ulfric? The Jarl of Windhelm? You’re the leader of the rebellion. But if

they captured you… Oh gods, where are they taking us?

Ralof: I don’t know where we’re going, but Sovngarde awaits.

Lokir: No, this can’t be happening. This isn’t happening.

Ralof: Hey, what village are you from, horse thief?

    Lokir: Why do you care?

Ralof: A Nord’s last thoughts should be of home.

    Lokir: Rorikstead. I’m…I’m from Rorikstead.

[They approach the village of Helgen. A soldier calls out to the lead wagon.]

Imperial Soldier: General Tullius, sir! The headsman is waiting!

General Tullius: Good. Let’s get this over with.

Lokir: Shor, Mara, Dibella, Kynareth, Akatosh. Divines, please help me.

Ralof: Look at him, General Tullius the Military Governor. And it looks like

the Thalmor are with him. D**n elves. I bet they had something to do

    with this.

This is Helgen. I used to be sweet on a girl from here. Wonder if Vilod

is still making that mead with juniper berries mixed in. Funny…when I

was a boy, Imperial walls and towers used to make me feel so safe.
