About the Imperator Augustus Campaign Pack

The Imperator Augustus Campaign Pack is a new playable campaign for ROME II, which rivals the original ROME II Grand Campaign in both scope and scale. This campaign comes as part of Total War: ROME II – Emperor Edition and is available as a free, automatic update to existing owners of Total War: ROME II.
The Imperator Augustus Campaign Pack is set in 42 BC during the chaotic aftermath of Caesar’s grisly murder. The republic remains whole, but its soul is divided as three great men, the members of the Second Triumvirate, hold the future of Rome in the palms of their hands.

Octavian, Caesar’s adoptive son and the heir to his legacy.

Marc Antony, Caesar’s loyal friend and most trusted lieutenant.

Lepidus, Pontifex Maximus of Rome and the man who secured Caesar’s dictatorship.

With the territories of The Republic divided between them and the military might of Rome at their beck-and-call, the members of The Second Triumvirate are each in a position to make a bid for leadership, and rule Rome as its first – and only – emperor.

However, external forces are on the move, looking to exploit the instability of Rome and expand their own territories. Will you fight as a defender of Rome and defeat the other members of the Triumvirate? Or lead another faction on a campaign of conquest and expansion, and take advantage of the chaos as the Roman civil war rages?

Playable Factions

Players may embark on a new Campaign as one of the following playable factions:
Marc Antony
Lepidus
Octavian
Pompey
Iceni
Marcomanni
Dacia
Egypt
Parthia
Armenia (also now playable in the ROME II Grand Campaign).

How far will you go for Rome?

The award-winning Total War series returns to Rome, setting a brand new quality benchmark for Strategy gaming. Become the world’s first superpower and command the Ancient world’s most incredible war machine. Dominate your enemies by military, economic and political means. Your ascension will bring both admiration and jealousy, even from your closest allies.

Will you suffer betrayal or will you be the first to turn on old friends? Will you fight to save the Republic, or plot to rule alone as Emperor?

Plan your conquest of the known world in a massive sandbox turn-based campaign mode (supporting additional 2-player cooperative & competitive modes). Conspiracies, politics, intrigue, revolts, loyalty, honour, ambition, betrayal. Your decisions will write your own story.

Build vast armies and take to the battlefield in real-time combat mode. Put your tactical skills to the test as you directly control tens of thousands of men clashing in epic land and sea battles.

Play for the glory of Rome as one of three families or take command of a huge variety of rival civilisations – each offers a notably different form of gameplay experience with hundreds of unique units from siege engines and heavy cavalry to steel-plated legionaries and barbarian berserkers.

See exotic ancient cities and colossal armies rendered in incredible detail, as jaw-dropping battles unfold. Detailed camera perspectives allow you to see your men shout in victory or scream in pain on the frontline, while a new tactical cam allows a god’s eye view of the carnage to better inform your strategic decisions.

Extremely scalable experience, with gameplay and graphics performance optimised to match low and high-end hardware alike.

Still too buggy, unit have difficult to follow a path that make any sense, get stuck here and there (a pain during the assaults) the IA is stupid as f*** and the sea battles are just a race to ram the other boats
  • Rome settings
  • All the CA bugs in one place

Another good buy from instantgaming best deal out there compared to other sellers. Rome 2 has been fun to play so far in multiplayer and in the campaign very fast delivery although my purchase was declined several times before it was able to go through (idk why)

A really good game that after all those years is still one of its kind. Despite the semi old graphics the gameplay and the campaign are still awesome. The battlefield strtegies make the game feel real

I just bought Shogun 2 fall of samurai. I use to play the first one, total war shogun 2. I love all things japanese. Their culture, samurai's and obviously history as well. I must say that I am yet to start on my game because I haven't played since 2012. Too much LoL. didn't know this one came out and so here it goes. I dont think rome or britannia medieval napolean atilla can compare. I've looked at game play and even if the actual fighting looks better, the actual campaign of playing through the history of Japan has no comparison. So can you please rate them for me mister snake. I just bought this from this site cuz i was gona buy from steam but saw 25 quid then here 5 quid..fine ill try and well lets hope it all works ok.
  • Sick game
  • All other wars and historical campaigns suck

I didn't buy Rome 2 at release, because I saw it wasn't even playable, but I have to say CA did a fantastic job with patches, and since Emperor Edition the game is really enjoyable. I have played every Total War since Empire, and it is better than all three of them. The grand campaign is sick because the map, despite a few flaws is awesome, and the units are both well made and balanced, especially with mods like Radious installed. The game is way more complex as well, building cities is actually a quite realistic and fun thing to do, and combat has improved a lot, especially combat AI. The AI is actually clever now, aside from a few bugs here and there, but that and all the combat related issues come from the Warscape engine, that dates back to Empire. The same goes for the lags in large battles like sieges or bridge. All in all a very good total war game!

Awesome game and very fun. the game has a lot of good points such as attention to details. the custom war option is nice. The game is long and the story is great. The price is good even though the game is kind of old now.
  • Awesome attention to details

Sincerely I was disappointed by Rome 2 at the beginning, it had low resolution and no polish whatsoever, but now, with Emperor Edition, the game is actually good. When the game was launched, I had like 30 fps on ultra, being unplayable for me, but now I have like 50-60 fps with fifteen thousand soldiers on the map, with the same settings. It's not perfect, but it's how Rome 2 should have been when it was launched.

The generals and the skill tree are horrible, they gain traits way too fast, the speed of units in battle is too fast and the height of the troops are all the same. Also, the running speed is the same on light and heavy troops, there are too few playable factions without having to buy the downloadable content, which in my opinion is too expensive for what it has to offer.

I have played the game with eight players on lowest settings and I can't get more than 20 fps. The AI in the Emperor Edition is better than the one in the original game, but still too far from perfect. I should also add that the unit cards are horrible, the player has to be able to make the distinction between the units.
What I like at Rome 2 is the time period, the campaign map has a low resolution, but it's good. Also, if your micro is good enough, with the skirmishers you can easily defeat heavy armies.

To conclude with, it's a good game and enjoyable with a time period full of history

After a ton of patching, this game is finally almost flawless. The campaign AI is way better than before, the battle AI is comming powerful from behind, just like a cavalry group charging into my exposed archers.

Graphics, excelent, no more meth adict soldier faces. It has also been optimisated a lot. At launch, my PC was struggling to run the game at low details, now it's ok at high details. So, even if you don't have a state of the art PC, you can still enjoy the game.

Gameplay-wise this game is so enjoyable. Rise your army, atack the enemy, erase them from the map, conquer the world. Total War ain't changing. Cool factions to play with, and even more if you pay some extra money for them (sad, but stll better than paying for a difficulty level). There are still some buggs here and there, but nothing serious.

Overall, this game is great, I strongly recommend it to all players, new or veteran TW fans. 9/10
