its good if your a fan of the game itself alan wake, I really wish the game am sry this dlc of a game was just part of the alan wake game itself. but atlease when you get it here is a steal on price. its worth a try if your into this type of game
- looks great
- no zombies lol
- crashes
- should of been added to the game not dlc

“The line between fact and fiction becomes hopelessly blurred.”
I was really excited to play Alan Wake’s American Nightmare after I finished the main game. And I was a little disappointed… The concept of Mr. Scratch and the time loop was interesting, but I just didn’t feel the same hype I felt with the main game. I know that American Nightmare isn’t a main game or a sequel itself, but even the two DLCs were more interesting than this. Well, maybe “interesting” is not the right word… But Alan Wake is supposed to be a thriller/horror combo, and I just didn’t feel any of those with American Nightmare. It was still fun to play, but I just didn’t feel the same “This is so scary, I want to put it down to calm my soul” vibe I felt with the previous game. The Taken were very easy to kill (I think I only died like 3 times in the game, whereas in Alan Wake I died more times than I can count, even in the easiest mode), and the quests themselves were too easy as well… I’m definitely going to play the game again, because I have a few more achievement points to get, plus, as I said, it is a fun game—just not as powerful as the first installment.
- Interesting twist in story
- Interesting concept of the new villain
- Great visuals
- Good voice actors
- Not as challenging as the main game, even the two DLCs were more difficult
- Repetition making it boring after a while
- The conclusion of the narrator makes it feel like an unnecessary filler
