Description

The game that defined the survival-horror genre is back! Check out the remastered HD version of Resident Evil.

In 1998 a special forces team is sent to investigate some bizarre murders on the outskirts of Raccoon City. Upon arriving they are attacked by a pack of blood-thirsty dogs and are forced to take cover in a nearby mansion. But the scent of death hangs heavy in the air. Supplies are scarce as they struggle to stay alive.

Graphics
  • More detailed graphics that retain the horror.
  • The environments come alive with detail thanks to resolution upgrades and non-static 3D models.
  • Post-processing effects like Bloom filters, which were not easy to do at the time of the original release, have been added to make the HD graphics even more realistic.
  • High-Resolution Environments - We've increased the resolution of the background environments by recreating them with a mix of high-res static images, plus animated 3D models.

Widescreen Support
  • Widescreen (16:9) is supported, so players can experience a greater sense of immersion.
  • In widescreen mode, the screen will scroll. The parts of the screen that get cut off on the top and bottom will scroll into view automatically depending on the character's position.
  • You can switch the display mode during gameplay in real time.

Sound & New Controls
  • High-Quality Sound - The audio has been remastered to increase the sampling rate, and of course 5.1ch output is also now supported.
  • New Controls
  • You can play using the original control scheme or an alternate control scheme that lets you just push the analog stick to move in the direction you want to go.
  • You can switch the control scheme during gameplay in real time.

The incredibles game
First Resident Evil game will be forever my favorite Resident Evil game. It was love from the first sign to a horror genre.

One big giant scary Mansion interconnected with many paths you discover. It's so well done and thought out. Good story with two amazing characters Chris and Jill. High replayability with both haracters cause you get different perspective from each other eyes and the game feels fresh again. Different weapons and semi pathways.

What Mansion would be without scary environment and monsters. That first zombie you meet will sets up so perfect whats gonna wait for you later on. Be prepared cause this is no regular shooter you will have to survive. If you leave one "dead" zombie body on a ground wait for suprise later on. Every bullet counts. High stakes. Many different enemies wont let you escape alive. Rotting dogs, crows, giant snake, sharks, bees, Hunters, chimeras and of course spiders. Big hairy spiders. The more you progress the more tougher enemies will show up.

Beutiful and haunting location with scary ambients sounds and music and on the top of that you need to think fast and solve puzzles to get out of this area. So many of them and they are well made. Nothing to add more just go and experience this madness yourself. ps. Forgot to mention iconic Inc ribbons ;) They will add to survival experience for sure. 10/10
Resident Evil is a survival horror video game developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and published by Capcom. Released for the GameCube video game console in 2002, it is a remake of the 1996 PlayStation game Resident Evil, the first installment in the Resident Evil video game series. The story takes place in 1998 near the fictional Midwestern town of Raccoon City where a series of bizarre murders have taken place. The player takes on the role of either Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, S.T.A.R.S. agents sent in by the city to investigate the murders.

Resident Evil was developed over the course of one year and two months as part of an exclusivity deal between Capcom and Nintendo. It was directed by Shinji Mikami, who also designed and directed the original Resident Evil. Mikami decided to produce a remake because he felt that the original had not aged well enough and that the GameCube's capabilities could bring it closer to his original vision. The game retains the same graphical presentation, with 3D models superimposed over pre-rendered backgrounds. However, the quality of the graphics was vastly improved. The remake also features new gameplay mechanics, revised puzzles, additional explorable areas, a revised script, and new story details including an entire subplot cut from the original game.

Upon release, Resident Evil received acclaim from video game journalists, who praised its graphics and improved gameplay over the original game. It is often described as one of the best, scariest, and most visually impressive entries in the Resident Evil series. However, the game sold worse than expected, leading Capcom to change the direction of the series to a more action-oriented approach. In 2008, the game was ported to the Wii, featuring a new control system. In 2015, a high-definition remastered version was released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox 360, and Xbox One to critical and commercial success.
absolute great game. this is a great port of the remake, better graphics, 5.1 sound, its very atmospheric, and yes the dogs still made me jump as much as they did when i was younger. the locations look a lot better, for anyone who hasnt played the original style resident evil and has just been left with the latest trash with have then i urge you to get this
