Someone turns up dead every day, usually in the infamous Red Light District, where every vice is for sale. This night is different: The dead body is not just another unidentified stiff doomed to obscurity. He’s a disgraced cop’s last ticket back onto the force.

A Death in the Red Light is an adaptation of the critically acclaimed puzzle game of the same name, set in historic Amsterdam at its lowest point. The decaying city seems doomed, with landmarks blighted by junkies, criminals, and seemingly unceasing civil strife. The urban rot seems all consuming - can you resist it and solve the case?

  • Live the life of a hard-boiled police detective investigating a true crime Amsterdam mystery, connecting the dots to solve a gruesome murder - all inspired by a real-life case! Use logic, deduction, and the resources of the Dutch police to solve the case.

  • Follow a non-linear storyline that takes you across the Amsterdam of 1988, a city torn apart by rampant heroin addiction, brutal organized crime, and widespread social unrest.

  • Explore the infamous Red Light District, from the picturesque canals to the seediest streets, including Zeedijk, the Heroin Alley, where regular cops don’t go without backup. You might not have another choice.

  • Meet the people of Amsterdam, from the underclasses desperate for a reprieve, through the predatory mob growing rich on their misery, to the police officers and social workers desperately trying to keep the city from exploding.
