DUST: Origins - PC (Steam)

DUST: Origins is an isometric action-horror shooter set aboard the doomed orbital prison platform Limbo-6, imagined by the creators of Darksiders, Battle Chasers, and Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. Abruptly freed from cryo-prison, you fight to escape a murderer’s row of violent criminals and horrifying monsters before the station tears itself apart. There's more than one way to escape, but beware...actions have consequences. 

You’ve been abruptly freed from cryostasis to find Limbo-6, the orbital processing platform over the notorious prison planet Dross, in total collapse. Its orbit decays, major systems fail, and guards mercilessly execute inmates – like you. You have one instinct: escape.

Ammo is scarce and resources are limited. How you approach a situation matters, and you’ll have to be strategic to survive the onslaught of enemies and environmental hazards. 

Every sector you reach will deepen the horrors that await. How will you make it out?

Your actions make a real difference in how the story unfolds, with multiple paths and endings. Anyone can live, and anyone can die. There’s more than one way off of Limbo-6: safely on an escape pod, or extremely dead — it’s your decision. 

As you navigate the station you will encounter other survivors with their own motivations. Trust is hard to come by so don't expect a warm welcome. These characters can assist or impede your escape depending on whether or not you help them in return. And yes, you can go the lone wolf route and leave the others to their own fate. 

During conversations with NPC characters you will learn more about the station, its threats, and ways to advance. Some of the characters will present you with optional side missions that can unlock new items and areas to explore. Choose wisely.

Humans are not the only threat on Limbo-6. The station was also a site for bio-engineering and terraforming, where alien organisms were collected and experimented on. As the station has fallen apart, these creatures have escaped containment and now lurk around every corner. No area is safe.

Creatures are aggressive and lethal. You will need to observe their behaviors and exploit their weaknesses to survive these encounters. 

Are some more than they seem?

DUST: Origins is designed to be experienced multiple times to see everything and unlock Extras. Every completion will carry over into your New Game+ and grant you access to new items that enhance your next playthrough.

You will see one of multiple Endings based on how you play and the actions you have taken. Can you save yourself and the others? Who will survive?

Additionally, a number of post-credits Epilogues will reveal the fates of the various characters you have crossed paths with during a playthrough. You will need to complete the game multiple times to see them all.

Each outcome will be added to your Endings Collection for easy tracking of what you have and haven't seen. Every Ending, Epilogue, and Dead End will unlock a unique Extra ranging from exotic weapons & mods to 3D characters to inspect in the model viewer. Access these special items in New Game+, along with harder Difficulties to change your gameplay experience.

The world of DUST: Origins is brutal, and death is a natural part of the experience. There are many creative and unique ways to die, often times triggering a Dead End. The first time you see a Dead End it will unlock a unique Extra in the Endings Collection. 

Limbo-6 does not give – you’ll have to take what you need to make it out alive. Ammo, crafting materials, and secrets are hidden throughout the collapsing orbital nightmare.

At the start of the game, you are outmatched and outgunned. With limited options you will need to scavenge for anything you can find. A broken shiv and a handful of bullets can mean life or death. 

The further into the station you go, the more equipment you will get access to. Create a custom loadout of Weapons, Armor and Mods to turn the tables. Inventory space is limited so you must be mindful of what you are carrying. Luckily, you can find upgrades that will increase your capacity.

The materials you collect can be used to craft vital health and ammo consumables, permanent stat upgrades and specialty Mods that can be equipped in your loadout. How you choose to spend crafting resources is up to you and your strategy for survival.
