Base game completed on the PC via Steam in just over 17hrs or so UHD with settings maxed.
The Good
• Using light to fight enemies is a interesting and unique mechanic with added depth due to an impressive light / shadow presentation.
• Characters and story are intriguing and interesting throughout.
• Setting and nods to classic media such as Twin Peaks, The Twilight Zone and 90s TV noir!
The Bad
• Some mechanics don't work as cleanly as intended in places making things more difficult then they perhaps intended to be.
• Vehicle camera, turning and collision somewhat off in places
• Collectibles are easily missable & require playing much of the game again to get after the fact in addition to navigation and trigger issues as well as difficulty lock or cheese (last radio broadcast requires not triggering radio host for instances).
The Ugly
• Some frustrating points in the game requiring repetition due to a clash of mechanics and lack of clarity
The Score
8/10
Great fun and a great experience at the right price (not the longest game ever especially if you don't take it in or look for stuff). An atmospheric immersive story driven adventure with on point characters, setting and some interesting mechanics
