El Dorado is the fifth expansion to Europa Universalis IV and brings to life the conquests, creeds and discoveries synonymous with the Age of Exploration. The centerpiece of the latest addition is the Nation Designer, which allows the customization of a starting nation in a campaign and further enhances EU4’s already near infinite replayability.

This expansion’s focus on Central America and South America introduces new religions whilst impactful theaters of exploration will challenge you with new decisions worthy of a king or conqueror. As the Aztecs, subject the Mexican plain to your rule but be sure to have enough vassal kings to sacrifice to your angry gods. As the Europeans, push deeper into the jungles of the Amazon, following rumors of lost cities and magical fountains.

Whatever path you choose, El Dorado is sure to be a golden addition to your Europa Universalis IV playing experience.

Main features:

  • A deep Nation Designer gives you new starting options for your games, including national ideas and custom monarchs.
  • Experience the new Nahuatl, Inti and Mayan religions with blood sacrifices or Sun Worship.
  • Send your conquistadors to hunt for the Seven Cities of Gold, or your explorer on exploration missions around the world.
  • Gold Fleets can traffic New World wealth back to Europe, and be targeted by your privateer fleets.
  • Use your trade fleets to hunt dangerous pirates.

El Dorado ist ein sehr gutes DLC und für Leute die irgendwann vorhaben die Welt zu kolonialisieren meiner Meinung nach ein Must-Have. Zum einen gibt es den Vertrag von Tordesillas, welcher der Papst ausstellt an denjenigen, der zuerst in einer Kolonialregion 5 Kolonien hat. Mit dem Vertrag bekommt das Land Gebietsansprüche auf die Region und andere Länder Malusse, wenn sie dort kolonialisieren. Zum anderen gibt es Gold-/Silberflotten, die in regelmäßigen Abständen von den Kolonialnationen geschickt werden und eine zusätzliche Einnahmequelle sind. Die Beträge variieren (bei mir) je nach Menge der Gold und Silberprovinzen zwischen 50 und 250 Dukaten. Eine weitere große Neuerung ist, dass man benutzerdefinierte Nationen erstellen kann. Schon dafür lohnen sich die 4.65€. Man hat eine gewisse Anzahl an Punkten, die man verteilen kann. Mit diesen erstellt man Herrscher und Thronfolger, Religion, Ideen, etc.
Den einzigen Nachteil sehe ich darin, dass man um Kolonialnationen spielen zu können das DLC Conquest of Paradise kaufen muss. Trotz dessen 100 Punkte.

Für El Dorado geb ich die 80 Punkte, da es bessere und wichtigere DLC's bei EU4 gibt.
EU4 hätte 100 bekommen ;)
El Dorado ist lustig um in einer kleiner Gruppe von 4- 8 Leuten Spaß mit selbst-erstellten Nationen in Eu4 zu haben!
