Description

As of December 4, 2016, the online services portion of Batman: Arkham Origins has been retired. We thank those that have joined us to battle. The Single player campaign may still be played and enjoyed offline. For any questions relating to Batman: Arkham Origins, please contact WB Games customer service.

Batman: Arkham Origins is the next installment in the blockbuster Batman: Arkham videogame franchise. Developed by WB Games Montréal, the game features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, the first two critically acclaimed games of the franchise. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous criminals, the game showcases a young and unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight.

Key Features:

  • The Arkham Story Begins: Batman: Arkham Origins features a pivotal tale set on Christmas Eve where Batman is hunted by eight of the deadliest assassins from the DC Comics Universe. Players become an early-career Batman as he encounters for the first time many of the characters that shape his future.

  • Enhanced Detective Mode: Think like Batman with an all-new Case File system that allows players to analyze seemingly impossible-to-solve crime reconstructions in real time. Combining Batman’s cowl sensors with the Batcomputer, players can digitally recreate crimes and study detailed simulation of the act as it happened.

  • Gotham City will learn to fear Batman: Take back the sprawling streets of Gotham years before its transformation into Arkham City. Glide above or battle your way through new and ever more dangerous districts in the quest for justice. Prevent crimes in progress, take down gangs of violent new criminals and explore deadly new locations, from the impoverished streets to the penthouses of Gotham’s wealthy.

  • Gotham’s Most Wanted: The city streets are filled with more than just Black Mask’s assassins. Locate and take down Gotham’s most violent and dangerous criminals to earn unique upgrades.

  • Lethal New Enemies: Fight new foes such as the Armored Enforcer, the Martial Artist and more – each of which challenge players to approach Batman’s FreeFlow Combat scenarios in different ways. Classic FreeFlow combat is expanded with every new opponent – and with Batman’s abilities to engage them.

  • New Gadgets: Utilize Batman’s signature gadgets or take advantage of powerful new additions such as the Remote Claw, the Concussion Detonator and more. Use the Remote Claw to create new routes by deploying strategic tightropes or directly attack enemies by stringing them up from vantage points. Ready the Concussion Detonator to stun and disorient groups of opponents in close combat.

  • New and Familiar Characters: Experience a fresh take on iconic Batman characters including Black Mask, Penguin, Deathstroke, Bane, Deadshot, Anarky, Captain Gordon, The Joker, Copperhead, Firefly and others yet to be revealed.

I love this game at all
  • Everything
  • The old version of Batman with Anger Issues and his mistakes
  • The Story, The old Bane before becoming a villan like many others, not as stupid as it is in the arkham verse
  • Nothing, please do the remastered version Rocksteady ???

This game carries the gameplay mechanics of Arkham City, but with an art style and story that sets it apart. It feels almost like a comic book or cartoon, with a near cell-shaded look. The overall gray and matte tone of the visuals adds a satisfying unique visual flair, giving it a grounded yet distinct feel.

As for the voice acting, while Kevin Conroy (RIP) and Mark Hamill are irreplaceable, Roger Craig Smith and Troy Baker do a great job voicing a younger Batman and Joker. Their performances work real well for this younger iteration of the Arkham-series characters.

Base game - 3.5/5
Cold, Cold Heart DLC - 4/5

Another great game in the franchise. Not as good as Arkham City, but still a really great game. The game plays very similar to Arkham City, but here you're playing as Batman only.

What I did like is how many different bounty hunters appear here and all the number of boss fights you're given, the Bane and Deathstroke boss fights, among others, were really good.

The story here is equally good as in the other games, including the Cold Cold Heart DLC which was great as well. The new gadgets are great, especially the electro/heated gloves which are really OP and fun to use for bigger swarms of enemies. The "Detective Mode" also gets a really nice upgrade. I also liked the combat here more than in Arkham City, it has a little bit more of weight and reality to it, the only thing I really didn't like is that glitch where Takedown doesn't work when someone is knocked most of the time. Mentioning the glitches, this game probably has them most often out of the franchise. They're not happening often and none of them are gamebreaking, but I did notice them here more than in the other games. The open-world also doesn't really feel like there is much going on, unlike Arkham City.

It's a great game however, I highly recommend it, especially if you're a fan of the series.

would definetly buy and rebuy this (not really but you get the point). this being a prequal has nothing to do with its quality and is in my opinion part of the arkham series fully. i am sad to finish the story because i played all of the other three, ill miss experiencing these for the first time but like city and asylum, ill replay it over and over again. knight i would too but my computer gets a beating just opening it. for someone who doesnt have a pc or a gaming laptop i really loved these games, as they are older and better to render on this thing i have.

In my Opinion out all 4 Games, this one it's the 4 / 5, The story is good, but i didn't really got that "Batman Feeling", still a great game
  • Good Graphics
  • Good Story
  • Nice Combat System
  • Doesn't have that "Batman Feeling"

Dont buy in 2024, the game is unplayable on a modern pc and will constantly crash

Best tie-in ever made. This is the prestigious recognition that the developers of Rocksteady have been awarded practically unanimously by critics and the public for their work with Batman, protagonist first of Arkham Asylum and then of Arkham City.

Such a underrated Arkham game, one of the best. The story is really well written and the map is incredible. Being able to move aroud in a different Arkham City it's really great. You'll find a lot of Batman vilains, the main one and some unknown to most of us.

Don't wait, just go play it, it's amazing
  • The best boss fights
  • Online mode doesn't work on steam

This has been a great journey so far! Maybe not as good as the other Arkham games but still a great game. I was skeptical at first when I found out that the voice actor changed for batman and joker for this game but I have to say the new ones did just as good a job.
  • good gameplay
  • minor bugs

I have always been a fan of Batman. This game's atmosphere reminds me of Christmas. I love it.
  • Better graphics than Arkham City.
  • Multiple enemies such as, Two-Face, Deathstroke and Penguin are live for the second time
  • Open World Game
  • Even a GT 440 with an Intel Core Duo can run this game
  • WB Games left the game with some bugs

Great game! Beautiful graphics and fun gameplay. Looked maybe a bit too mutch on the previous games in this series, but since those were great as well I didn't mind it that mutch. Once the sequel is on sale I will definitely get it :)

Ok....there is a problem here. Maybe you thought this game is the previous part of Arkham City. Well ,is not. This game is the beggining of the Arkham Series. For example, Barbara Gordon, aka Oracle, is not in a wheel chair, and she's young(17 years). The line launcher is not even made, the Batmobile is ruined....And at the beggining, Batman did not know Joker at all...And Joker looks pretty well.....Harley Quinn is not a villan yet...but she meets the Joker....Play it and discover more. Buy it now!
