Take charge of history’s greatest war machines in Hearts of Iron IV, a grand strategy wargame that challenges your strategic abilities and political insight. Refight World War II at the head of nation from the time period, building up an industrial powerhouse and a diplomatic alliance that will effectively wage war on ideological opponents.

Hearts of Iron IV is more than a historical simulation. Alternate historical paths open up with almost every decision you make, from small ones such as where to launch your attack to crack open Fortress Europe, to large ones, such as whether to re-establish democracies or long forgotten monarchies.

In Hearts of Iron IV, you can plan the military strategy almost down to the rivets, as you design division templates for your armies, research new modes of production and means of destruction, set out factory instructions and pursue political objectives. Almost no part of the war goes untouched as you guide a nation of your choice through humanity’s darkest hour.

This purchase comes with the Hearts of Iron IV base game as well as four expansion packs:

  • Death or Dishonor: focuses on eastern and central European middle powers

  • Together for Victory: focuses on British Commonwealth nations

Bought 2 codes for my friends and I got them instantly and they were fully functioning. Great website with great UX, highly recommend. Purchase did not take longer than a few seconds and the key was given instantly and shown clearly.

It's a very good, immersive game, hard enough for new players, but once you get the hang of it, it's very satisfying to play, and allows you to develop your strategy in a video game.

On the negative side, the AI is very annoying during peace conferences, which are very random and affect the quality of the game.

The DLC is very good, but a little expensive for my taste.

I had a good sale on this one. It cost me less than £5 and I had so many hours of gaming.
I needed to search a lot about how the game mechanism works because, after reaching 100hours of playing, I still didn't know the basics :)

It reminds me of the old turn-based games where I could spend countless hours and still have no ending. The other day, I wanted to "set up" my chosen country for war. The next thing I knew, it was over 6 am, and I needed to leave home... If you are like me, you have to set up time reminders!
  • You can choose any country to control
  • So many DLCs to buy if you want to adjust some mechanism.
  • Many free mods available!
  • It takes time to learn the basics
  • It's not a quick match game at all.
  • Computer slows down after the first years.

Downloaded game is incredibly laggy and it's not computer's fault because it far surpasses the recommended specs. I have tried everything to make it work but every time I boot it up, I can't go an entire in-game day without a massive lag spike.

HOI4 allows players to experience the story they already love in a new way without losing any of the beauty from the original game. New and old characters get their chance to shine through and steal your heart, even the ones you never expected to. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and maybe you’ll even feel a sense of justice for the infamous Allies in the end. But one thing you won’t feel is regret in picking up HOI4, as it’s truly the best HOI title, if not one of the best video games, I’ve ever experienced to date.

Hearts of Iron IV is a WWII strategy game (the best out there). It focuses on historical accuracy, but you can always turn historical focuses off, and you can recreate history. There are also mods, a big community. Overall a PERFECT strategy game.
