I recommend the game positively because I spent 150 hours on it two first weeks that I took the game, and in total 200 hours.
So, saying the game is "bad" would be a lie.

-

A year ago, I wanted to play Fallout 76 by a free weekend Steam offering acces of Fallout 76 during 72h.
But the game was so unintuitive that I didn't even play for one or two hours before uninstalling it after.

In early March 2024, "before knowing about a upcoming Fallout series on Amazon Prime"
A friend suggested I try the game again with him. So bought it on Instant Gaming and after a few hours, I ended up playing alone.

Why ?

It's complicated to progres with a friend because mission and progress is only tracked for the group leader.
This means you'll get a message asking if you to "Assist leader" when you will enter in a building or cave.
Even if u was at same progress than your friend.
You will have to go back by yourself afterward in same building or cave for do "your progress"
This is why at end i finish to play it alone, "Friend given up the game"

We can consider that Fallout 76 is more an Fallout 4 with player vendors.

-

The interactions between players/ramdoms, "if you can call them that" mostly involve being in a group to get the XP multiplier while continuing your own adventure.
Aside from events where you have to kill mobs. "come, boom boom, kill every mobs, win and leave"
There is no vocal proximity, so communication between players is done solely through emotes.
Not even a proximity or server chat..
There is a vocal group, but most of the time, no one talks, or you'll hear background noise from players with poor-quality microphones.
"based on my experience"

-

Despite everything, even though the game is marketed as a multiplayer experience, it is more playable like Fallout 4 as previously mentioned.

I didn't necessarily feel like I was always doing the same tasks or missions. Even though, like in all games you need to "take a quest, complete it, and come back"
In that aspect, all games do that.

I think spending 200 hours for €10 is more than fair. I didn't buy any DLC or opt for the subscription service, as I was initially skeptical about the game at start.
I believe the game still offers a good experience for anyone wanting to play a Fallout game.
The release of the series has brought in many new players, and Bethesda decided to release a major bug-fix patch after the series on Amazon Prime.

PS: I still find it unfortunate that it took an Amazon series for them to release a bug-fix patch that players had been waiting for several years..
  • non-repetitive missions
  • Not p2w game
  • 200h contents for 10€
  • Not much interaction between players
  • No possibility of communication outside of group chats
  • Solo progression
Great game, what more is there to say. If you like Fallout games you should definitely try it. I suppose it is not comparable to the version it was first released, I got the game when I started seeing praise for the game.
  • First 100 ours is great
  • A lot of things to do
  • Build your own base is
  • After 100 ours the game feels like doing the same
  • Missing some difficulty, often to easy.

yess 100% if you get this for 1$ for the xbox
  • the price
  • gets selld out fast
Very bad physics!

You shoot at the opponent or hit him with the sword, but nothing happens, but the opponents lose health. You can't see the effect of the blow on the opponent's body. The blood effect is also of poor quality.

Didn't buy it from instant gaming, however, is shitty. I don't like game will low physics and effect quality.
  • Very bad physics!
A fun game with a lot of missions either in solo or co-op (Big deception is the fact that the missions in co-op are only validated for the team leader and not the other players).

Still a lot of bugs and absolutely no new tech in sight.

  • Fun
  • Solo or Co-op
  • Beautiful despite the old graphics
  • No DLSS/FSR
  • A lot of bugs
  • Old graphics
A decent game to just shoot stuff with a friend for less than 10$

Be aware that even with a high end PC the game didn't feel smooth (even with 144FPS) and had FPS drops so I had to install a mod to fix the performance issues and now it's actually playable for me.

See BIG FPS Boost on NexusMods

Also there are some tweaks in the .ini files that are useful like disabling vsync (which cannot be done through the game's options menus because why would you need to disable it of course?)

See PCGamingWiki
  • shoot stuff with a friend
  • bethesda account required
  • might be bad in solo
although the game is pretty nice, it's much shorter than i would expect from an online game.

after a month and a half, at level 107, the story is over- all the stories. all there is left to do are events, and pointless grinding.

as for the Fallout 1st subscription:

Bethesda is greedy. everyone knows it.

Fallout 1st is the proof of that.

today it costs almost as much as the game itself- and for what?!? a few small benefits?

don't buy the Fallout 1st subscription.
  • fun for a while
  • may poor mechanics from FO4 were fixed
  • too short for an online game
  • Fallout 1st
To be honest, as a Fallout New Vegas player, I hoped that this game could be better.... But I feel something is really bad with it. The difference between Fallout 4, and New Vegas between this one is something I don't really know to say. Maybe the online is good, but it's a little dead.

The game itself has improved sooo much since it's launch. A big amount of bugs have been fixed, it almost never crashes anymore, story has been expanded, it has new well built locations and overall if you're just trying to have some fun, alone or with friends I would say this game is great for that.
i mean, personally i like it, i am playing with a friend though so that may explain some things, it has its pros and cons, some people may say its ruined, but i still find it fun, so if you have any friends to play this with, then do give it a go!
  • multiplayer
  • level scaling
  • can craft with only the blueprints
  • to realistic, as in condition on items.
  • survival, you need to drink and eat
The game is pretty good so far, bethesda worked hard to make this game great after launch fail, bugs and problems, now the game is more than playable, and with some friends is not boring, i recommend this game.
  • great
  • fast
Not bad game! if you liked previous ones, you will notice a different game play, as always we will find a few bugs no big deal! if you are fan of the Fallout previous version and you got patient and hours to play it´s almost the perfect game beside the bad reviews when it was released. It´s rated has 100 because I still need to explore it a bit more to make a fair judgment. kind regards.
  • World aspect view perfect apolitical
  • Need good powerful Pc
Okay it worked. thank you instant gaming, thank you crackwatch. I was sceptic to buy on this site, but everything went smoothly. In the end i would 11/10 reccomend this site. Got the code seconds after i gave the money so...
  • It is a fallout game!
  • It is a fallout game.
This game definitely isn't as bad as people say but it's far from being good.

I received the game as a gift but i couldn't bring myself to finish it. I tried it twice, first before the Wastelanders expansion and then after. In both cases I wasn't captivated enough to continue.

I think it's a decent game for fans of the franchise that want to experience Fallout together, but I highly discourage it as a solo experience if you are not a big fan of the series.
  • Fallout with friends
  • Plain experience
If you enjoy Fallout, you will enjoy this game as another entry in the series. A map to explore, interesting new creatures, weapons and places, building bases, events, there is plenty to do. Maybe the multiplayer aspect isn´t all fleshed out, but the community is awesome and very friendly (we help newcomers all the time). It´s lacking more content (after one month playing it there´s little left for me to see, but it´s okay) and had a rocky launch, and the storylines are weak due to this problem. But if you enjoy progressing with friends in a post-nuclear world and enjoy looting, building, and crafting, give this a chance. It´s really worth it´s price now.
  • Big map and great environment
Having played, and liked, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4. I don't understand the bashing of Fallout 76, it's just a Fallout 4 online, the multi is an awesome addition (aids, trades, fights), the Fallout world is really alive now, with frequent events. The PVP system is also great, only thing that bothered me is the worse graphics than fallout 4(but it is understandable being an online game)
  • nice gameplay
  • you can have fun with your friend
  • lot of activity
  • worse graphics
You can ignore most reviews from before 2020. People were not happy with this game's launch, wich is understandable. It was empty. I do feel people overdid it though by giving the game 30/100 scores.

With the Wastelanders update and the following updates this game really redeemed itself. NPC's are back and the world feels more alive with new settlements and better quests. The free season pass is a really nice addition to the game and gives you a reason to log on daily or atleast weekly because you can get some nice rewards for just playing the game.

My time in this game (~700 hours) has been played 50% solo and 50% with friends i'd say. I do think it's a lot beter with friends but its fun solo for sure. The perk system is probably the best i've seen in any Fallout game and it has the smoothest gameplay aswell. It does lack in the RPG department. Decisions on what factions you support and dialog options sometimes feel somewhat meaningless unfortunatly.

I do feel it needs some more end-game. There are things you can grind for but Bethesda has put a daily cap on the recources you need for them. These hopefully go up in the future!

Overall I would recommend this game if you like the Fallout franchise, especially for the price you can get it at now. 78/100 for me and climbing.
  • Fun for single and/or multiplayer.
  • Free DLC's and season passes.
  • Ongoing development, although sometimes slow.
  • Frequency of bugs
  • Needs more endgame content.
  • Not as true as an RPG like for example FO: New Vegas
I play this game since the very beginning and i saw its improvements patch after patch. I highly recommend this game if you really love fallout or you are looking for a rpg with complex mechanics, not for casual players..
  • Complex online Fallout experience
  • Constantly updated with new contents
  • Nice community / players market
  • Sometimes you encounter bugs
Having played, and liked, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas (with all dlc), also started Fallout 4 but no liked it (lack of "charism", "commun" characters, bad dialogues.. ). I don't understand the bashing of Fallout 76, it has the great immersion of Fallout, with all things which missed before, a deep crafting, all the loots are useful now, the rpg/survival progression is excellent, great quests, PNJ are often "funny", the multi is an awesome addition (aids, trades, fights), the Fallout world is really alive now, with frequent events (rescue a nuclear plant, beat a big monster with other players...). The PVP system is also great, for example, if a high level player attack you, don't reply and the damage will be very low, so you can escape, if he kill you, he's marked as "criminal" and other players could attack him ;) otherwise, you can fight as usual, the good thing is, when a lower level try to catch your "treasure" you can shoot him a bit, to keep the place ;)
If course, it would have been even better with an Obsidian script ;)
  • True Fallout immersion
  • Multi is a great addition
  • Deep crafting, rpg and survival aspect
  • Progression and frequent events to keep the world alive
  • Would be even better with an Obsidian script
  • The possibility to buy Atom with real money, which shouldn't exist in games
Personally is like this game already, there are tons of thing to explore. Sure the world feels quite dead (the backstory for this is a so-so), but with the upcoming Wastelanders DLC i hope this will change! :)
  • Massive world with tons of things to explore
  • Lack of human NPC's, so the world feels dead
Simply the worst game i have ever experienced.

The login part of the game is your first lottery. Either you can log in or you can't.
After that you might crash before you get to play or crash while playing.

The game isnt that bad,the glitches arent so frequent like before.I dont really like the way that the story is told but the story it self isnt bad.Late game is pretty boring tbh.Just dont buy it if its more than 20eur
  • fun with friends
  • not a bad story(my opinion)
  • bugs and glitches from time to time
  • late game is pretty boring
  • battleroyale simpa
  • les dév travaille dessus malgré l'échec
  • jeu sorti trop tot selon moi
  • mal optimisé à la sortie du jeu
This game is a good game, If you play it like its not a part of fallout series. Its a good game but doesn't really have the epic feel and play that Fallout 4 has.

Dont like the multiplayer part...Ruins the game

Disapointed in Bethesda!
  • Large Map

  • aucun
  • beaucoup trop
The Coop Fallout I've wanted for awhile

Despite the hate-wave on this game, if you actually play it. Remember its different from the norm and Enjoy the potential to play with you best wasteland buds. The Game is a gem, with more content coming this year. Large map, diverse enemy system, and having a C.A.M.P Anywhere is fun for RP'rs.

If you enjoy bethesda style Exploration this game has it,

If you want a game that has a survival feel like Rust, Reign of Kings, Ark etc this game is up there with one of the best of this type, borrowing aspects from those games but making it, its own.
  • survival feel like Rust, Reign of Kings,
  • No single player, no quests, no npcs, no amazing storyline.
  • comunita tossica
  • alcuni bug, risolvibili uscendo e rientrando
  • la storia non è un granché
Fallout 76 is like Fallout 4 but with many many more Bugs and Glitches.
The Online piece of the Game is just crap and doesnt work really well.
The Game is also very laggi and has many Problems to be fixed...
  • Its Fallout
  • Its BAD
I really love this game, since i bought it i started exploring it all around the map, its huge i have to admit but the community is friendly and helpful, im also one of them i suppose, i recommend it
  • Friendly community and good mechanics
  • So little time
Not yet worth it to buy as it is a very bad state at the moment and quite frankly it isn't a finished game. Try and maybe wait a bit for the Developers to fix multiple bugs and glitches and maybe then it would be a solid game, but for now I would take a look at other games.
