NBA 2K19 for PC is a basketball simulation game starring many real-life NBA professional players. The players depicted on the cover vary according to region, with, for example, an Australian born NBA star featuring on the Australian version of the game, but the game itself remains the same.

This is the twentieth offering from NBA 2K who have the sanction of the NBA to use their name and players, and the game even features some genuine NBA commentary – including some in Mandarin Chinese!

About the Game


Like a strict new coach determined to mould his rag-tag team into the best that they can be, there is greater emphasis on ball control, and skills in this incarnation of the game. Even long-term fans who have tried out previous versions will find themselves sweating a bit as they struggle to master new controls and difficulties.

However, once mastered these skills will give you much better mastery and precision while you are playing the game, so it is well worth persisting with until you feel comfortable and confident with the new ways to play. A good tip is to play against other newbies rather than against the computer: people who are struggling as much as you will be easier to beat and give you a little more time for thought in between moves.

Pay Your Way to the Top


If you are feeling flush and want to unlock everything now, you can use cash to open doors and progressions quickly. There are a lot of in-game purchases available – critics say too many – but you do not have to pay any extra money at all if you don’t want to or can’t afford it. Every item that can be unlocked with a microtransaction can also be won with hard work and a little grinding to accumulate the points you need.

Notable Players


Some excellent players to watch out for include the following real-life NBA rock-stars. Their stats, speed and athleticism has been accurately transferred to the game thanks to high tech motion capture and superb physics engines:

  • LeBron James is probably the most famous player featured in the game, with an internationally recognised reputation and name. He plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, and has an impressive track record in the game: three NBA championships, four NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards, three NBA MVP Finalist awards, and, as if all that was not enough, two Olympic gold medals

  • Stephen ‘Steph’ Curry plays for the Golden State Warriors and has been an NBA All Star an impressive six times. With two NBA MVP awards under his belt, he is definitely a player you want on your side

  • Russell Westbrook is a Houston Rocket and has been named NBA All Star eight times, and NBA MVP once

  • Karl-Anthony Towns plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves, and is an up and coming player in the NBA. His effortless athleticism means that you can make the in-game Towns do just about everything you want him to. From NBA Rookie of the Year 2015 – 2016, to two NBA All-Star nominations, Towns has plenty to offer

  • Jimmy Butler started out playing for the Chicago Bulls, but stepped into the sunshine with the Miami heat. He is a four-time All-Star and a four-time NBA All-Defensive Team Star amongst other accolades, including being 2015s NBA Most Improved player. All these skills have been ably transferred to the screen, and his defense skills make him a must-have player at the other end of the court

    Its by far the best basketball franchise, and 2k19 has great graphics, a very good story mode, many fun game modes and is pretty realistic. The only problem is the devs dont give a damn about the game so the servers are broken, and the microtransactions are rediculous.

    I would love to give this game a 70+ but the fact it doesn't have any anti cheat is a big problem, and the fact to get any where in my career it can cost another game to get the rating needed to be good

    Still best basketball game ever. Graphics, animations, gameplay, and players controle is more better than 2k18. I gues that 2k still working on updates and sometimes we got bugs. but they will fix it. My player mode like a always is good and every years is better. Cinematics is more realistic and pay attention. New is that we can skip cinematics and that is better then last year. My park is different and idk where is the VC office :D Only bad thing is that we can buy skills for overall. And that is reasson why i give 8/10 to game. But if you are true fan of 2K NBA and NBA leage that is not problem. Skills over the money. I know that because i play this game from 2k09
