Description
Resident Evil 2 Biohazard RE:2 for PC is a horror survival game, a remake of the original which was released in 1998. The original was very well-received and often appeared on ‘top ten video game’ lists: hence the idea to remake it using all the beloved elements from the original, but merged seamlessly with modern game development and design techniques. There are twenty-four Resident Evil games altogether, and the series has grossed millions.
There are two protagonists to play as rookie cop Leon Kennedy or college student Claire Redfield. The original game begins with Leon’s first day on the job and unfortunately for the poor newbie cop, this momentous occasion coincides with the release of a virus that turns the citizens into mindless blood-thirsty zombies. In the remake, the game starts about two months after the release of virus, when many of the citizens are already turned.
Leon meets up with Claire, who is looking for her missing brother, but events transpire to split them up. Fighting through town, whichever protagonist you choose has to try to make it to the police station, the agreed-upon meeting place. Depending on which character you choose to play as, you get a different series of events.
Once you have completed the whole game as one character, you unlock 2nd Run which gives you the opportunity to do the game all over again, but this time from the point of view of the other character.
Because you have already completed some missions as the first player, for example, unlocking doors, solving puzzles or finding clues, your second character will not have to do these tasks all over again. But they may face dangers that you didn’t see the first time, so stay alert!
Claire’s story: Claire finds a young girl, Sherry, in the grasp of a zombie and rescues her. She takes her home, only to find that her dad has turned (he was the creator of the virus) and is trying to infect his wife, Sherry’s mother. Claire has to repeatedly battle William as she struggles to keep Sherry safe even as she tries to meet up with Leon again.
Leon’s tale: Leon teams up with (is saved twice in quick succession by) FBI agent Ada Wong. They work together to try and get hold of a sample of the virus, all the while dogged by the mysterious Mr X. After a battle in the laboratory, Leon reunites with Claire, also meeting Sherry who is still with her.
Leon and Claire work together to kill Sherry’s dad, blowing him up in the laboratory. All three vow to continue the battle against the evil corporation behind the virus’ production.
Pick your targets wisely. Ammo is limited and some zombies are better left in your dust rather than painstakingly taken out with bullet after bullet
Find all the hip pouches you can. These expand your inventory storage space and you will need as much as you can get. Each pouch adds two inventory slots to your armoury, so look out for: there are six in total. Look in the lab, the sewers, the underground facility and the police station
Stay armed at all times. Knives are reusable, grenades will take out a lot of zombies that are nearby and flashbangs will give you enough time to get away. Having one or more of these at all times is a must to give you the edge, should a zombie catch you unawares
Red areas on the map still contain secrets so don’t assume you’ve found all their secrets. Some objects are hidden, so make sure you open or examine everything. Completed areas on the map turn blue. Make sure you complete each area before moving through a point of no return, of which there are several
Flamethrowers are powerful, but dangerous and hungry for scarce fuel. If you find one, use it sparingly and in short bursts
Resident Evil 2 Biohazard RE:2 for PC is available for purchase on Instant Gaming for a fraction of its retail price. You will receive an official key and be able to play the game in seconds. Play smart. Pay less.

Ray tracing has mysteriously disappeared from the PC remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3
This is a rather strange phenomenon that has affected the PC version of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 recently. In fact, players have noticed that it is no longer possible to activate ray tracing through the display settings. This is due to a minor, presumably faulty update deployed on April 13th.…

I have not played any horror games since Amnesia: The Dark Descent, so I was quite dubious before delving into this game. Nonetheless, this game did indeed exceed my expectations. I truly loved every second of it, and I did not feel bored for one second (only when I was too perplexed when doing the puzzles, but those problems never got too egregious). The eerie atmosphere and tattered zombies cohere exceptionally well, creating an incredibly immersive setting.
Every time I talk about video games with my friends, I always recommended this game; it is a great icebreaker to the Resident Evil franchise if you have not played them (I had not).
I gave this game 10/10 though it is not flawless; however, for what video games are and represent today with microtransactions and battle royals, this game gratified my need to play a GOOD single player game.

- Great gunplay
- Nice graphics
- Has a lot of replay-value
- Could have been a little longer
- Inventory management can be tedious

Capcom is back! This RE 2 remake is so good. To me this is how it should look RE game not in some first person view like re 7 did. I had a lot of fun playing on hardest difficulty. Everything is top notch. Every step you take you need to think about it. This is not pew pew run run fiesta. Every bullet counts. Dont waste it. Mr X makes you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in a pants if you stay to long in one place. This feeling of danger makes your skin crawl. If you like old RE games this is for you. My only one downside is that there was no spiders in this game. Why? Doesnt make sense at all. Capcom fix this in RE 3 remake please. 9,5/10 Almost perfect.

i ablsolutely love this game, the RE engine makes gore amazing, how the damage of guns shows in the bodies, the story is great. the standard mode is fair and easier the more you explore but hardcore is THE challenge, and the extra modes are what you need for even more gameplay and challenges. the 4th survivor ost is a banger
- story
- gore
- extra modes

If you have never played a resident evil game, this is the one to start on. The ambience is perfect with great visuals, and it even runs on slower pcs due to AMD's FSR, which basically renders the game at a lower resolution and upscales it, giving you a boost in performance on any card, AMD or NVIDIA alike. It's definitely got some quirks and you might not enjoy the genre, but if you do, it's a great franchise.
- Good Performance due to FSR and great optimization
- Fantastic Price (offering great replayability)
- A fun game with challenging mechanics and difficulty
- Kind of a niche game (in my humble opinion)

Worth Every Penny. I bought this alongside Re7 and RE8 (Still have to play 8) on a whim. Let me say I'm not disappointed with RE2. Probably in my top 10 favorite games of all time. Mr. X is my favorite part of the game without a doubt. Having him roaming the station is truly menacing. Did I also mention the police station is my favorite section of the game? Spoiler: It's because of Mr. X. Seriously though, I highly recommend this game to anyone, even if you aren't really into zombie games. I'm not a big zombie game person so i thought this would be sort of a game where i play it once and never again, but i found myself continually coming back to the game and replaying the police station section, and a few extra full playthroughs. The only thing I can think of that isn't the greatest with this game is the RTX functionality with this game. It doesn't have very good optimization for RTX and will have a lot of problems with RTX cards that don't have very much Vram (like my 4060ti 8GB). But other then that i would highly recommend this game to anyone who is on the fence of this game, because i remember playing this for the first time and being truly immersed and wish I could go back and experience that again. Because playing this game for the first time is like playing Minecraft for the first time. It is truly a unique experience that you only get once. Addendum: I also played this game blind in 2023 so I didn't know what it was about so it was an even better experience than the average person.
- Replayability
- Fun
- Mr. X
- Unoptimised RTX Features
- No DLSS

The updated graphics are stunning, immersing players in the dark and atmospheric scenario of Raccoon City. The game strikes a perfect balance between preserving the essence of the original and introducing fresh elements. From the heart-pounding encounters with iconic enemies to the gripping storyline, Resident Evil 2 Remake is a masterful reimagining that captures the essence of survival horror. It's a must-play for both fans of the series and newcomers alike.

As a long-time fan of the Resident Evil series, I eagerly dove into the remake of Resident Evil 2 with high expectations. I'm pleased to say that this game not only met but exceeded those expectations in terms of sheer terror, immersive gameplay, and the exhilarating fun it delivered. - Some Puzzles Can Feel Unbalanced
