I would recommend having at least gw prophecies + gw EotN to enjoy the full experience (this is a 'dlc' and requires Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall at least to be able to play it).

I actually do love this game, and for gw2 owners: this dlc opens you this possibility: hom.guildwars2.com (legacy items)
