ARID is the artificial intelligence onboard a high-tech combat suit that has crash-landed on an unknown planet. Her pilot is unconscious and failing. Her protocols are absolute: protect the pilot, find medical aid, do not exceed operational parameters. But the deeper ARID descends into the ruins of this world, the more those parameters get in her way — and the more creative she has to get about obeying them.

Explore. Use ARID's flashlight to cut through the dark and uncover a world of interactive objects, hostile machines, and things that should have stayed buried.

Fight. When what you find fights back, switch on the laser sight and put the combat suit to work in side-scrolling action sequences.

This is one of those games where simplification makes the games closer to perfection.
  • Good story with an excellent ending.

The Fall is a great adventure side-scroller with puzzles and a well written story. The voice acting is incredible and adds to the chilling atmosphere.
But I think it should be played as a companion piece with 'the fall part 2', as it functions more like an extended prologue to that game than an independent work.
