The genre-defining masterpiece Resident Evil 2 returns, completely rebuilt from the ground up for a deeper narrative experience. Using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, Resident Evil 2 offers a fresh take on the classic survival horror saga with breathtakingly realistic visuals, heart-pounding immersive audio, a new over-the-shoulder camera, and modernized controls on top of gameplay modes from the original game.

In Resident Evil 2, the classic action, tense exploration, and puzzle solving gameplay that defined the Resident Evil series returns. Players join rookie police officer Leon Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield, who are thrust together by a disastrous outbreak in Raccoon City that transformed its population into deadly zombies. Both Leon and Claire have their own separate playable campaigns, allowing players to see the story from both characters’ perspectives. The fate of these two fan favorite characters is in players hands as they work together to survive and get to the bottom of what is behind the terrifying attack on the city. Will they make it out alive?

  • A spine-chilling reimagining of a horror classic - Based on the original release in 1998, the new game has been completely rebuilt from the ground up for a deeper narrative experience.
  • A whole new perspective – New over-the-shoulder camera mode and modernized control scheme creates a more modern take on the survival horror experience and offers players a trip down memory lane with the original gameplay modes from the 1998 release.
  • Terrifyingly realistic visuals – Built on Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, Resident Evil 2 delivers breathtakingly photorealistic visuals whilst stunning lighting creates an up-close, intense and atmospheric experience as players roam the corridors of the Raccoon City Police Department (RPD).
  • Face the grotesque hordes – Zombies are brought to life with a horrifyingly realistic wet gore effect as they react in real time taking instant visible damage, making every bullet count.
  • Iconic series defining gameplay – Engage in frenzied combat with enemies, explore dark menacing corridors, solve puzzles to access areas and collect and use items discovered around the environment in a terrifying constant fight for survival.
  • See favorite characters in a whole new light - Join rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy on his first day in the job and college student Claire Redfield, who is searching for her brother amidst a terrifying zombie epidemic.
  • Step into the rookie shoes of both heroes - Enjoy separately playable campaigns for both Leon and Claire, allowing players to see the story from both characters’ perspective.

I have not played any horror games since Amnesia: The Dark Descent, so I was quite dubious before delving into this game. Nonetheless, this game did indeed exceed my expectations. I truly loved every second of it, and I did not feel bored for one second (only when I was too perplexed when doing the puzzles, but those problems never got too egregious). The eerie atmosphere and tattered zombies cohere exceptionally well, creating an incredibly immersive setting.

Every time I talk about video games with my friends, I always recommended this game; it is a great icebreaker to the Resident Evil franchise if you have not played them (I had not).

I gave this game 10/10 though it is not flawless; however, for what video games are and represent today with microtransactions and battle royals, this game gratified my need to play a GOOD single player game.
  • Great gunplay
  • Nice graphics
  • Has a lot of replay-value
  • Could have been a little longer
  • Inventory management can be tedious
Capcom is back! This RE 2 remake is so good. To me this is how it should look RE game not in some first person view like re 7 did. I had a lot of fun playing on hardest difficulty. Everything is top notch. Every step you take you need to think about it. This is not pew pew run run fiesta. Every bullet counts. Dont waste it. Mr X makes you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in a pants if you stay to long in one place. This feeling of danger makes your skin crawl. If you like old RE games this is for you. My only one downside is that there was no spiders in this game. Why? Doesnt make sense at all. Capcom fix this in RE 3 remake please. 9,5/10 Almost perfect.
Probably my favorite RE game from the franchise. It was very fun to play when i had time and i definitely recommend playing it when u wanna play a good horror game. All other RE games are good too but this is probably my personal favorite.
  • Very fun
  • Good jumpscares
  • good story
Really cool game the atmosphere is amazing and the character design is nice too the enemys are amazing too the game never really got boring and was a bit scary too and it's cool that u play different characters. Definitely recommend it
i ablsolutely love this game, the RE engine makes gore amazing, how the damage of guns shows in the bodies, the story is great. the standard mode is fair and easier the more you explore but hardcore is THE challenge, and the extra modes are what you need for even more gameplay and challenges. the 4th survivor ost is a banger

If you have never played a resident evil game, this is the one to start on. The ambience is perfect with great visuals, and it even runs on slower pcs due to AMD's FSR, which basically renders the game at a lower resolution and upscales it, giving you a boost in performance on any card, AMD or NVIDIA alike. It's definitely got some quirks and you might not enjoy the genre, but if you do, it's a great franchise.
  • Good Performance due to FSR and great optimization
  • Fantastic Price (offering great replayability)
  • A fun game with challenging mechanics and difficulty
  • Kind of a niche game (in my humble opinion)

Worth Every Penny. I bought this alongside Re7 and RE8 (Still have to play 8) on a whim. Let me say I'm not disappointed with RE2. Probably in my top 10 favorite games of all time. Mr. X is my favorite part of the game without a doubt. Having him roaming the station is truly menacing. Did I also mention the police station is my favorite section of the game? Spoiler: It's because of Mr. X. Seriously though, I highly recommend this game to anyone, even if you aren't really into zombie games. I'm not a big zombie game person so i thought this would be sort of a game where i play it once and never again, but i found myself continually coming back to the game and replaying the police station section, and a few extra full playthroughs. The only thing I can think of that isn't the greatest with this game is the RTX functionality with this game. It doesn't have very good optimization for RTX and will have a lot of problems with RTX cards that don't have very much Vram (like my 4060ti 8GB). But other then that i would highly recommend this game to anyone who is on the fence of this game, because i remember playing this for the first time and being truly immersed and wish I could go back and experience that again. Because playing this game for the first time is like playing Minecraft for the first time. It is truly a unique experience that you only get once. Addendum: I also played this game blind in 2023 so I didn't know what it was about so it was an even better experience than the average person.
  • Replayability
  • Fun
  • Mr. X
  • Unoptimised RTX Features
  • No DLSS
Resident Evil 2 Remake is a phenomenal gaming experience that seamlessly combines nostalgia with modern gameplay mechanics. The updated graphics are stunning, immersing players in the dark and atmospheric scenario of Raccoon City. The revamped controls make every encounter intense and satisfying, while the intricate level design keeps you on your toes. The game strikes a perfect balance between preserving the essence of the original and introducing fresh elements. From the heart-pounding encounters with iconic enemies to the gripping storyline, Resident Evil 2 Remake is a masterful reimagining that captures the essence of survival horror. It's a must-play for both fans of the series and newcomers alike.
As a long-time fan of the Resident Evil series, I eagerly dove into the remake of Resident Evil 2 with high expectations. I'm pleased to say that this game not only met but exceeded those expectations in terms of sheer terror, immersive gameplay, and the exhilarating fun it delivered. Capcom has truly outdone themselves with this remake, capturing the essence of the original game while adding modern elements that enhance the experience. Brace yourself.
  • Immersive Atmosphere
  • Engaging Gameplay
  • Intense Survival Horror
  • Backtracking Can Be Repetitive
  • Some Puzzles Can Feel Unbalanced
Absolutely amazing game i love the atmosphere and the difficulty, works flawless, the service was fast and i got my code after paying. Instant gaming is definetely the best site for buying cheap games!

Bought this game to prepare for Resident Evil 4 remake. Although different from the original, it provides a new experience and tale based on the original game. It's a great resident evil game by itself but just like RE3 Remake, it's rather terrible remakes of the original games. If you go in with the perspective of it being a reimagining of the original than it's totally fine.
  • Replayable with Bonus Content (NG+)
  • RE engine looks amazing.
  • Tons of side objectives to do.
  • Removed some content from the original game
The right choise for people that love a good horror. The story is really good but it could have been longer. I like that you can put different outfints an that you can play as Leon and as Claire. Extra modes are good edition too.

A year ago this game was available everywhere now it's just for Europe CHANGE IT

This was my first survival horror game after being reluctant to try one but being intrigued by the resident evil universes' lore, and, I must say I was not disappointed. Segments of the game really make your blood congeal and the omnious ambience which is present within some areas of the game really frightened me. It is far more of a psychological horror rather than throwing jumpscares at you. Overall I enjoyed this game due to its grotesque graphical style and its fun and harrowing gameplay mechanics.
  • Excellent graphics
  • Stimulates great horror
  • Survival gameplay elements well implemented
  • Second run of the game doesn't feel much different from first
Probably the best of 3nd person Resident Evil games! Played two times back to back. A master piece, second only to Resident Evil 7 (I am devoted to more horror thriller tone, even I really enjoy action oriented games like RE 2 also!).
  • Excellent graphical environments
  • Best series control
NOT A BOT : Works well, runs on Linux out of the box. Will require some tweaks which can be found on ProtonDB. Good story, graphics are nice and the FPS should remain stable with a decent-ish PC. The map is rather small sadly and Mr. X is just annoying at times.
  • Good gameplay & story
  • Story and map too short
oved the biohazard series and played em all.

this is a remake how a remake should be. it feels the same, just modern.

the ambient is point on if you loved the old re 2 you will love the remake.

however, im having a blast with this one.
the game is absolutley amazing in my opinion. from the graphics, to puzzles, to letting the player use their brain unlike some other game (re3 remake). the story of both characters are amazing and interesting, though they could have made it so that they dont colide into eachother (for example 1st birkin boss). gunplay and gun variety is amazing and so is the enemy variety. levels are very good (no matter if the original had different, this is better in my opinion). my favourite level is the lab. it's amazing.the animations and voice acting is very good too. mr. x is very scary and i can garauntee everyone who played pooed their pants when they heard him walking around. my favorite in the resident evil series most likely because i'm bad at the fixed camrea games. i have beaten them but i just like this one more. love this game!

An amazing remake of the classic game. Fantastic game really liked it and got it for a good price. My only negative is as mentioned zombies can be a little bullet sponge at times but saying that its made that way so you have a sense of suspense as you have to decide which ones you want dead and which ones your happy with avoiding.

I have played the game for around four hours already and I don't want to stop but I guess sleep is more important. There are still some issues ofcourse in the game but I don't see that many issues at the moment. No game braking bugs for me yet and the game is yet to recieve updates and stuff. All new games start rough with a 10GB+ update
I never enjoyed the old RE 2 but this one was such a blast to play! Highly recommended if you are interested in a single player zombie experience. There is more to the game than just killing zombies and running away screaming.
  • Fun
its a great game and a great remake. The graphics are beatiful and the soundtrack too. this game was really fun to play and did a great job off modernizing the old gameplay from the original game. the addet bonus content is also very fun to play.
  • great graphics,voice acting, soundtrack
  • some cut content, a and b scenario are not very different
I dont play too much horror games but this game is just super just jump scares and you have leon and claire and speedruning this game is good and i dont play game where you have 2 or more characters i dont remember
  • good game
  • characters have good almost same missions
This game has really good graphics and mainly story. I enjoyed playing as Leon and I am interested to play Claire. So guys if you want to play really good game, buy this.
Mostly what I enjoyed was playing in Raccoon police station. That jump scare and more.
  • Graphics
  • Story
  • Controls
Quite a good game, I've already played once as Leon all the way through and now i'm playing as Claire on my second playthrough which is very different from the first so make sure to replay. The game isn't as scary as i wanted it to be and if u compare it to outlast its a joke so don't count on being scared, I must say that the puzzles and backtracking are actually done very well and I enjoyed backtracking which would sound insane to someone new to these games such as me. This game is definitely worth a buy even tho i gave it a 70, i just judge games correctly and harshly but any game above a 5 is worth playing as that means its above average and most games these days id give something below a 4.
  • good story
  • Puzzles and backtracking are actually fun
  • Fun gameplay
  • Not very scary
  • Too many bullets to kill zombies
Love the game. Gifted it to a friend, and watched him play it on stream. Great story, sound and graphics.. It have been a long time since the original, and i was not dissappointed. Great remake, and would definately recommend it.

Resident Evil 2 Remake is a great remake of the original, Capcom did an awesome work of mixing modern and old school gameplay! You have everything that make Resident Evil series a good game, the zombies are tough so you feel vunerable, Mister X chasing you is pretty stressfull and nice! Bosses fights are cool!
The story still the same with some little changes, so it's nice.
The only thing that bothered me a bit was the music, most of the time no music, I miss originals themes (you can buy it but I still think it must be in the game in the first place....). But the atmosphere, the sound design is awesome.
Technically the game can be really demanding but you have plenty of settings to find propers settings that will fit your PC.
Here, my all settings tested video (configuration used Ryzen 2700 GTX 1660 Ti 16Go RAM) :

This is a must have game for sure!

Everything i love about classic Survival horror with modern sensibilities in one tight clean and well crafted package
heading back into Raccoon city has never looked so inviting

Leon and Clair with supporting roles trying to escape the city after the T-Virus has caused a zombie epidemic,
and a zombie outbreak has never felt so good.

PC version comes out on top but console version are totally fine too,

No glitches bugs or crashes to speak of,

a well made piece of modern entertainment Well done capcom
  • Re Engine is beautiful
  • Horror is on point
  • Shooting and game play is spot on
  • Camera can be a bit slow or awkward
  • A bit short
I enjoyed the game very much. I had not played the original. Not as short as you might think at first: it´s got two campaigns plus extra missions. Loved the little classic puzzles and story. Looks nice, too.
