L.A. Noire is an immersive detective experience, captivating in its 1947 setting and innovative facial animation system. However, the shooting and character movement mechanics could have been more refined, hindering the overall gameplay experience. Despite these shortcomings, L.A. Noire stands as a unique and enjoyable ode to the Golden Age of Hollywood detective fiction.
  • get to be a detective
  • more lean back gameplay
  • captivating story
  • poor character control
  • bad shooting mechanics (very little shooting)
Its very nice game from rockstar original noire story. Has violence and good detective exploring for murders but and the story is strong, also has and side mission and very interesting achievements to hunt if you like it like me .
  • +story
  • +graphics for that time
  • +music
  • -a little be repitable
Well, it's from Rockstar so it must have great story, characters and dialogs. The atmosphere itself felt like playing Mafia 2: all the warm colors, buildings and vehicles that belongs to these times are well implemented into the game.
  • Awesome motion capture
  • Graphics (technically and artistically) are as good as in Mafia 2 which I liked also
  • Interrogations are sometimes hard but still rewarding
  • Good story intensified with flashbacks
  • 30fps lock, which can be unlocked thought
When Rockstar Games does something, it is good. This time they put you in the shoes of a twentieth century detective named Cole Phelps. He is going to solve the most interesting cases; for example (spoiler alert!)you go to a murder scene and, solving the case, you find out that that guy set up his own murder just to go and live with another woman.
But how do you manage to solve those misteries? The gameplay functions around a "truth or lie" game. When you talk with somebody else you must tell if they are lyinng to you or not by watching their body language closely. Based on your guess you get new clues, if they are right, or not, if they are wrong.
You can't fail a case, but is the most satisfying to see that you solved the case correctly.
At some times the "truth or lie" system can get a little repetitive, but this is the only donwside I can think of about this game.
It has been a most satisfying experience playing this game and, most definitely, I will play this game again sometime in the near future. Buy with confidence! 100/100
  • Great storyline
  • Great characters
  • Excelent "truth or lie" system
  • Can get a little repetitive
