Takes a long time to get used to the controls, even after 6h sometimes im kinda lost.
Also minor things like acessing the inventory takes 3 clicks which is insane.
other than that the game is amazing, u can do so many things... creator coletor, farmer, base builder, combat, exploration, u can dye ur weapons ur armor even the gear of ur horse, its insane
A really great game, still plagued by bugs and questionnable game designs, but it has the qualities of a great game. It might become a GOTY or even a GOTD (Game Of The Decade) after some updates, which are delivered at an exceptionnal rate from the devs. They are listening to the players and modifying their creations on the go, which is a refreshing stance compared to the last years' dev teams who have had nothing but contempt towards the gamers who had given them their money.
The game has a vast map to explore, filled with life to interact with. The combat system is robust and varied. It was clearly developed as a console friendly game, so in my opinion, it definitely lacks a keyboard/mouse combo friendly UI. It is not game breaking, but can be really annoying sometimes. The devs are clearly working day and night to improve it though, relying a lot on gamers' feedback.
One of the most problematic bug for me is the redundant freeze after long game sessions (2+ hours), which I hope they'll get rid of soon, but seeing the work they're doing on updates, I'm really optimistic about that.
I played 240 hours, finished the main quest, but still have a lot to explore and secondary quests still waiting. So I'd say it was well worth my money.
So I have like 150 games on Steam, and this is my first review. I didn't even know where to post it or how to post it. That's my first review.
I'm not a writer, but I feel I can write a book about this game.
For this, I'll stick to the crazy stuff that happened to me with this game:
1. For starters, I do not like open-world games like Skyrim. I like linear games, so this is not my type of game. I played a lot of Division One when it came out and afterwards. I finished "Lies of Pi" three times. The story.
2. I'm 47 years old. I played a lot of games in my youth, but recently, like in the last five years, I've just played occasionally, little to nothing, besides "Lies of Pi"
3. I'm married. I have a daughter, and I have a full-time job, so I don't have time to play
I feel like this game has something magical, but in the sense that it's capturing you, and you not even started to play yet. I've watched like thirty minutes of a stream of my brother, and even he said it's a trash game in the beginning anyway. I felt a connection from the beginning, and that connection is strange. It's like it was some kind of spell or something. I don't know. I repeat, he ditched the game. He said he has no story, the controllers are clunky, and he said he has bugs and stuff, and he did not like the game.
Crimson Desert is honestly one of the most impressive games I’ve played in a long time. The world feels alive, the combat is satisfying, and there’s always something new to discover even after 100 hours. The developers clearly care about the game and the players, constantly improving and adding content. If you’re into immersive open-world games with great combat and attention to detail, this is definitely worth playing
