Description

Ghostrunner is a hardcore FPP slasher packed with lightning-fast action, set in a grim, cyberpunk setting of a futuristic megastructure. Climb Dharma Tower, humanity s last shelter after a world-ending cataclysm. Make your way up from the very bottom to the top, confront the tyrannical Keymaster, and take your revenge.

The streets of the tower city are full of violence. Mara the Keymaster rules with an iron fist and little regard for human life.
As resources grow thin, the strong prey on the weak and chaos threatens to consume what little order remains. The decisive last stand is coming. The final attempt to set things right before mankind goes over the edge of extinction.

As the most advanced blade fighter ever created, you re always outnumbered but never outclassed. Slice your enemies
with a monomolecular katana, dodge bullets thanks to superhuman reflexes and employ a variety of specialized techniques to
prevail.

One hit one kill mechanics make the combat fast and intense use your superior mobility (and frequent checkpoints!) to
fearlessly engage in a never-ending dance with death.

Ghostrunner offers a unique single-player experience of fast-paced, violent combat, and an original setting that blends science fiction with post-apocalyptic themes. It tells a story of a world that has already ended and its inhabitants who fight to survive.

Do you seek a challenge? Come on in. Are you easily frustrated? Don't bother.

You hop into the action, die within seconds, instantly respawn. Die again, instantly respawn, repeat. And then you learn. Expect to fail an absurd amount of times, until you figure out the most efficient way to remove every obstacle in your way.

A few aspects that I find worth commenting on:

Action. It's fast. VERY fast. You will need to slow time constantly, and it won't be enough. In time, you might replace strategy with pure skill and reflex speed, or perhaps not.

The way out. Just like in Dishonored (you can see the relation), there are multiple ways to solve each scenario.

The bosses. Only three of them, but souls-level frustrating. (Also, one of them is a rythm game in disguise. Don't bother looking at Hel, the best way to beat her is playing the rythm.) If you are easily frustrated... don't.

The music. Just fantastic, if you enjoy the type of music.

The graphics. Very nice.

The worst part? Platforming levels. Uuuuugh.

  • Fast respawns, usually (sometimes you fall for a whole second)
  • Stressing! (I recommend rests between levels)
  • Boring, predictable story (I hear they improved on II)

Game is great. It does take bit to get used to the fast paced playstyle of it, but I could just be getting old.

Dying in one hit is kind of annoying on long runs, but feels very rewarding when you beat something that took ten minutes of concentration to complete.

8.5/10 on this game, it's pretty solid and is a lot of fun.

Overall an absolute masterpiece of both gameplay originality and good music/ambience. The developers did a really good job on this one, making this game both a speedrunner’s dream and a fantastic experience for the average gamer. Bitterly underrated in my opinion.

Great Story Game with a deep storyline. Got cool mechanics and its really fun to play. You can try speedruns or just chillin and play with little steps. Its really a great story game. Lets and go and try your own speedrun

Great game so far. Fast paced and fluid in the excecution of abilities and attacks. Movement is fluid and fast. Sometimes too fast, where you accidentaly bump into walls. xD

Can't say more than what everyone else is saying about this great game. :)

I only played it for an hour but so far its really great.
It's very satisfying to play and runs smooth as butter because its really well optimized.
I can be a bit difficult sometimes and it can take a few tries to finish a level but its good

Fast paced Mirrors Edge'ish Cyberpunk game with only a sword and abilities. fairly challenging and has potencial in repeatability. Some minor bugs when jumping to platforms and such but very rarely. Highly recommended
