Build a new empire, resist foreign aggression or explore the limits of neutrality in Hearts of Iron IV: By Blood Alone. This new expansion for Paradox Interactive’s World War II grand strategy wargame adds new alternate history options and gameplay variety for three nations, as well as other significant changes.

Features of Hearts of Iron IV: By Blood Alone include:

  • New Italian Focus Tree:

    Follow the historical path of Mussolini's Italy or rewrite history by restoring power to the monarchy, leading a Communist revolution or replacing Mussolini with one of a variety of new contenders.

  • New Ethiopian Focus Tree:

    Defy the odds to defeat the Italian invader or resist the conqueror from abroad using unique Government in Exile abilities.

  • New Swiss Focus Tree:

    Surrounded by France, Germany and Italy, the mountain nation of Switzerland finds strength in its neutrality, balancing competing factions and overtures from the great powers.

  • New Peace Conference Options:

    Demilitarize zones of the map or entire nations, bid on the capital ships of defeated powers, or claim control of enemy resources or factories as reparations.

  • Aircraft Designer:

    Design and build your own planes, from nimble interceptors that prioritize speed to durable bombers crafted to unload tons of destruction from high above.

  • Unit Medals:

    A log of each division’s accomplishments lets you track their performance, and even allows you to award unique medals to division commanders for their actions in the field.

  • Embargo Interaction:

    Embargo your enemies with a new diplomatic interaction, preventing them from trading with you if they have generated enough world tension.

  • New Unit Models:

    Over 20 new unit models for Italy, Ethiopia, and Switzerland

  • New Plane Models:

    67 new plane models

pretty average dlc for me, i wouldnt put it as the best but its pretty good, adds content for italy switzerland ethiopia and ethiopian states, alongside plane designer, unit medals and more peace conference options, swiss focus tree is one of the worst though and the country isnt fun to play

This dlc is one of the best in HOI4's history. It has many interesting paths to take in the focus trees, allowing you to do crazy things like anshluss austria while playing switzerland before germany can.

It adds a lot and has many unique mechanics, though it can also attribute to the bloat of the game's features. While all the features and stuff are fun, the biggest change is the air plane designer.

The plane designer allows you to make really powerful air forces in the game, and allows you to make builds based on your play style.

You want to prioritize destroying the enemy's war effort? prioritize bombers and naval bombers that will ruin infrastructure and their ability to move resources by sea.

You want to dominate the skies to land paratrooper invasions? prioritize building fast and agile fighters to ruin the enemy air.

Its a great dlc with very few flaws, most of the flaws of the new update are with the free portion.

  • The power struggle mechanic in the changed nations can get annoying

This Is One Of The Must Have DLC'S For HOI4 . And As An OG This Is A Great DLC. The New Mechanics Are Easy To Learn, And Add Better Systems To The Game

I Am Happy That Italy Got A New Tree And Swiss And Ethiopia Also Have New Focus Trees. The Best Focus Tree By Far In This DLC Is "The Sultanate Of Aussa" <---- (The Truth)

dlc i pretty cool. i didnt buy it of instant gaming cuz i wanted to buy it in first secod but trust em dlc is worth it and very cool focus trees and everything. Maybe a little to short but still worth it.
