A Ubisoft employee's cat has been immortalized in Assassin's Creed Shadows
A little levity never hurts in what is often very (maybe even too) serious videogame news. Indeed, there's a little virtual animal like no other in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Yeah, basically just another bad Ubisoft slop title trying to make as much money out of their IP as possible.
Story feels like its written with ChatGPT, although that would actually be better.
English voice acting feels like they took some random people off the street, gave them 2 cold fries and a piece of paper with the lines on it.
Not recommended.

Casual RPG fantasy game with beautiful and immersive graphics. But certainly not an Assassin's Creed game

I bought this game here on this website, even pre-ordered and this game only gave me problems and I was upset about everything included in this game. And I also read a few reviews which made me shake my head, because honesty should be more popular with buying games worth more than a meal.
I changed my setting to priotize FPS and less graphic quality to see if it would make a difference in the game - surprise it doesnt.
negative: bugs, character moves on its own, sound bugs cutting music completely off without smooth transition, sometimes the sub-text doesnt appear when playing in japanese for example, object bugs and surround character bugs - making them move weirdly or the objects in their hand doesnt appear or is invisible
positive: good-semi world, small details which are beautiful, love the buildings.
In conclusion: Im ashamed of being part of the AC game series, with this game I played back then AC: Unity and AC: Brotherhood the whole days and nights without break basically and loved everything about them - not the coop mode in Unity included. I cant get even a refund of this game because I bought it here, but I knew that already, sadly game isnt worth my 50 bucks and will stay in my library with getting japanese dust on it and mold in the corner until Ubisoft see their mistakes and fix everything like they promised in their trailer or on all reviews written here, videos recorded here and of course on different websites reviews (e.g. steam), but Ubisoft lost me here as a japanese culture enthusiast and as a AC Player.
In regards, hanae

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the best the series has felt in years. The game delivers excellent optimization, with consistent performance across dense cities and open-world environments. This technical polish supports a game that shines through its well-written dual protagonists—Naoe and Yasuke—both brought to life with phenomenal mo-cap performances and expressive cut-scenes that feel more cinematic than ever. The narrative is tighter, more focused, and emotionally grounded (agreed that the assassination trees are too much), making it a far more engaging story than Valhalla. Ignore the grifters farming outrage for clicks—Shadows is a confident, refined return to form for the franchise. It doesn’t just revive the Assassin’s Creed formula—it evolves it with elegance and purpose.
- Satisfying stealth mechanics
- Beautiful world design
- Stunning motion capture and animations
- Some reused Ubisoft open-world elements

I pre-ordered this game, played it for 30 hours and I LOVE IT! I really loved Valhalla but it's a Viking game not Assassins game, Shadows is just that! You can hide on ceilings, lure your enemies to you and whack them with ease! Hide in shadows in your full black suit (Doesn't matter the color you can still be hidden in full white) I really love the stealth and parkour mechanics in this game, much better than Mirage. Beautiful world design, the seasons system is really well done. Every season is absolutely gorgeous in it's own way. I really recommend this game, you will love it!
- You are a Shinobi!

Overhated game
- Graphics
- World design
- Pretty good combat system
- Bad English voice acting (just play on japanese with english subtitles)
- Parkour feels weird sometimes
- Playing as yasuke makes the game way to easy even on the hardest difficulty

Shadows is an amazing addition to the Assassins Creed franchise, love exploring feudal Japan and the gameplay has some great new features compared to previous titles.
