Description

As governor, how you build and govern will shape your story, your citizens’ destiny, and your provinces’ future. Will you cooperate with other governors or prove your military prowess by challenging your rivals? The cost of peace is yours to decide.

EXPERIENCE THE PREMIER BUILDER

Build your provinces with unmatched detail, flexibility, and scale. Watch kids chase dogs through the streets or thousands cheer in the arena. Build upon the land that you see, from the beautiful heartland of Latium to the mysterious Celtic wetlands of Albion… where no civilized Roman wants to be.

BECOME A ROMAN GOVERNOR

Design the cities of your dreams at the peak of the Roman Empire as you balance your people's needs with the relentless demands of the emperor. Forge alliances across the empire or showcase your might with strategic land battles and naval combat. You may even defy the emperor himself – but not without consequences.

CHOOSE THE FATE OF YOUR PROVINCES

Every decision you make as governor matters. Will you honor local Celtic culture or enforce Roman traditions? Grow your provinces through diplomacy and commerce or conquer through military strength. Your choices will shape not only the future of your citizens and your provinces, but your own story as well.

I've been an Anno fan since 2019 when I started playing Anno 1800. I have over 1000 hours sunken into it, and I've been waiting for a new game for 4 years.

Anno 117: Pax Romana is here and it delivers! The developers gave us exactly what we wanted, more Anno. If you didn't like Anno 1800, you will not like Pax Romana, simple as that. If you are a fan of the previous games, or you like complicated city builders, then you are in the right place! Pax Romana is absolutely gorgeous and runs smoothly. I've only played it for 10 hours (as of November 13th), but I already love it. So far, it isn't as complicated, but give it some time. With the 3 upcoming DLCs (and I'm sure there will be more) the game will slowly grow in complexity.

For me, this is one of the best games of 2025 and I will probably sink another 1000 hours into this masterpiece.
  • Complex city builder
  • Absolutely gorgeous graphics with dynamic daylight cycle and light
  • Naval and land combat in an Anno game
  • I will update this if I find any

Is it Anno 1800 with a different skin? Well, in some respects yes.

The game's development is roughly the same, with twists and improved graphics. I think it's essentially the same comparison as Anno 1404 and Anno 2070. The era is different, but the gameplay is largely the same. Never change a winning concept.

Nevertheless, for me it's one of the highlights of this game year!

The game baiscly is good, no big problems, for me the elements of UI is strange. The overview of production and stock like in anno 1800 vanished. There is a production overview, but moved from the warehouse.

For me the land battle is not my favourite, but okay. All an all it is good
  • Anno game
