EVOLVE WITH EACH AGE OR STAND THE TEST OF TIME
Lead your empire through distinct Ages of human history. Across the Antiquity, Exploration, and Modern Ages, choose whether to lead one Time-Tested civilization from start to finish, have it strategically evolve to flourish with a new identity in the next Age, or split the difference through hybridization. As accomplishing scientific, cultural, militaristic, and economic milestones within each Age unlocks advantages in the next, you'll decide how and when your empire's identity and strategy develop.
CHART YOUR OWN PATH TO VICTORY
Shape your empire's unique story by pursuing a wide range of distinct Triumphs, attribute-based objectives that offer a player-driven experience. As each new Age expands the game's scope, it also brings opportunities to borrow elements from other civs, unlock new bonuses, and achieve Victory in myriad new and exciting ways. Order Commanders to move armies as one, engage enemies with revamped combat mechanics, equip swappable leader bonuses across campaigns with Mementos, and much more.
PLAY AS VISIONARY LEADERS OF PROGRESS
Embody illustrious leaders with one of Civilization's most diverse rosters yet, from traditional heads of state known for militaristic might or political prowess to visionaries who made lasting impacts on philosophy, science, human rights, and more. Your chosen leader will endure across the Ages, with a unique ability that can help reinforce or pivot your strategy from one Age into the next. For the first time in franchise history, leader selection is separate from your civilization, giving you the freedom to create all-new strategies by mixing and matching gameplay bonuses.
EXPLORE A WORLD VIVIDLY BROUGHT TO LIFE
Make your mark on a gorgeously detailed world! Your empire comes to life with a diverse range of cultural styles, represented across building architecture and Unit design. Traverse navigable rivers, explore the map's undiscovered reaches, and extend your borders with new Cities or specialized Towns. As your lavishly rendered territory expands, all of your scenic vistas, vibrant metropolises, and fledgling frontier territories will connect seamlessly across the ever-changing landscape.
TEST YOUR STRATEGIC METTLE IN MULTIPLAYER
Compete against other players online and prove your prowess as a great leader.* Multiplayer matches can be epic multi-Age campaigns or take place in a single Age, and cross-play is supported between PC and consoles, so you can play together with friends wherever they are.
*Online play and features (including progression bonuses) require an Internet connection and 2K Account (minimum age varies). Up to five players supported in the Antiquity & Exploration Ages. Up to eight players supported in the Modern Age. Map size restrictions may apply to certain cross-play multiplayer games. Terms apply.
the game is getting a lot of bashing because of its system but I find it pretty good (never played at humankind tho) ur civilization evolve into a new one, separation between ages are way more significant gameplay wise, there's plenty of new mechanics, overhaule it's a pretty good game for 50 bucks.
WARNING: a lot of the content as been deleted and added into dlc who will be out soon or is already purchasable rn, if your against this policie DON'T BUY THE GAME AT IT'S LAUNCH, your wallet is still your best speaker to the editor and decreasing sale at launch is a 100% more efficient thant review bombing.
refreshing compare to the other games of the franchise.
graphics are stunningly beautiful.
more decision in the player's hand rather than the game (ai for barbarian, terrain isn't as punitive as it use to be)
UI, which is getting patch but is rlly awfull rn.
dlc politics, selling a game 130€ because a quarter of it is in a dlc isn't a healthy marketing decision.
isn't as polished as it should be for the newest opus of the biggest 4X license
Pretty good so far at roughly 10 hours in. Lots has changed and I just jumped in with most defaults. Great graphics. It seems to have that just 1 more turn vibe.
Don't buy this garbage. We are 5 friends that bought the founder edition in pre-command. Long time Civ players ( since CIV 1 30+ years ago. This game is rubbish, its a SCAM. you will be extremly desapointed if you use your money on that Crap.
Its SLOW, buggy, have no CIV feeling, no depht. It has totaly killed the CIVILIZATION concept. Its unplayable in Multiplayer with friends. maps are too small, the free people / city stats are too many too close too agressiv. Human players are on top of each other and the entire game is only a war zone.
Graphic are some how nice, but not more for a 2025 game
Every thing else is bad
UI is awfull, No fun playing, Game play is ridiculus and stupid, SLOW SLOW SLOW
Slow game from turn one, with anoying slow movment and battle
ABSTRACT: It is a mobile game launched for PC. Starting from the menus. The beautiful marble cover that you thought that would replace the blue map from 6 is just for baiting.
AGE MECHANICS (NEW): The ages mechanics is terrible and takes out the game essence. Every new age you choose another civilization (what happened to the history of evolution of yours, which is the essence of civ games?) and all the players are placed at the same level of technology and civics. It is a soft reset every age. Even the unities created are not transported with you and doesn't matter what technology you had, you will have powder and cannons when the age changes.
GAME STRATEGY: There is no strategy at all. Just keep passing turns and choosing what to build at cities (whatever you choose doesn't make much difference). Tech and Civic trees are extremely resumed and almost dumb. Empire management is terrible and exhausting. Even though the things you have to do being simpler than civ 6, it is boring to do them. About 60 turns and you will be almost sleeping in front of the screen.
INTERFACE: Graphics are great. That's all. From there, it is an absolute downgrade from Civ 6.
UI is terrible, you can't find anything and can't see what are the perks of each choice or the technologies you develop. You must guess or point the mouse over it to see. Compare each one? Forget about it.
The UI is seem to be made for console or mobile in future. Not a PC game. Incredibly, it is a PC-born strategy franchise, not made for PC this time.
It is not an evolution from Civ 6. Only the graphics are. The HUD, the trees, the gameplay and UI, are all built from zero, and is a mess.
SOUNDTRACK: While Civ 6 soundtrack is a masterpiece changing according to the evolution of your civilization, and with cultural traces from it, this one is annoying, repetitive and nothing to do with what you are playing at the moment.
Direct copy of Humankid. Game is missing a lot of features. You cannot deactivate turn limit, no trainers are working and overall you get a lot more from Humankind.
I would recomend Humankind and not buying this unfinished "civilization" game.
Humankind is cheaper than this crap
Turn Limit
No trainers or editors working/ no mod support
Not Civilization anymore and lacking a lot to be Humankind
Worst Civilization ever. 50 hours of suffering through a Non-functional, freezing, slow play and that game sucks overall. I've played all the Civ's since they came out and have always been a big advocate of the game but this version is a complete disaster.
I have almost 1000 hours + of blissful play on Civ 6 and Civ 7 is like dry shaving with a dull butterknife.
It's basically civ 4, but really polished. I liked the slightly unintuitive but very slick and fast button interface, because once you know what you're doing the advanced gameplay can run quickly and smoothly. Some DLC should be free you guys.
It's a nice game but doesn't have a lot or things for it, the two main defaults are the loss of a lot of qol options, and secondly with the age system, its objectives and how civs and leaders work as well as the fact that the game doesn't go further than the modern era whereas we had giant death robots before, it feels way more restrictive and not as much of a sandbox as before
