DayZ is a hardcore, survival-focused multiplayer sandbox. Thrown into post-apocalyptic wastelands, you have a singular goal: survive. There are no missions or quests. Your story will be written by facing the unpredictable challenges created by the environment, the infected, and your interactions with other survivors. Every decision is yours. This is your ultimate survival story.
Immersion First
You will find no map markers, mini-maps, or navigational HUDs. From diseases and immunity to hunger and body temperature, information is conveyed through a minimal, toggleable HUD or, more importantly, through your own observations. To survive, you must physically search for every tool, ration, and piece of gear. Your survival depends on reading the environment, monitoring the state of your character, and looting strategically.
Two Terrains to Explore
DayZ is set in fictional countries crafted with a commitment to authenticity. The base game includes two distinct maps: legendary Chernarus and the mysterious woodlands of Livonia.
Chernarus, a sprawling 230 km² post-Soviet landscape, remains the quintessential DayZ experience. This community favorite is a hand-crafted terrain, inspired by real-world locations in North Bohemia of the Czech Republic.
Livonia offers a different challenge. This 168 km² map may seem more habitable with its lush, dense forests, but looks can be deceiving. Beneath its surface lies a deep secret: one that presents a fresh survival trial for even the most experienced players.
Survive, Survive, Survive
Everything is out to get you. Dangers lurk in plain sight and in the shadows, from aggressive infected who attack on sight to wolves and bears prowling the forests. But that's not all. You'll also have to tackle various diseases, learn to diagnose them by observing your condition, and find the necessary treatments.
Loot and gear are scarce, but crafting features can help fill the gap. Patch up your damaged clothes, make a fire to cook your rations, craft improvised tools, and scour the quiet yet deceptively dangerous villages and cities.
Friendly or Foe: You Decide
Keep in mind that up to 60 players are trying to survive along with you at any time. They can be an obstacle to clear, a helping hand to cherish, or anything in between. Emote and say “friendly!” over voice chat. Maybe you’ll find yourself staring down the barrel of a gun, tied up and gagged with a rag in your mouth. Or maybe you’ll encounter the helping hand of a friendly veteran and make a friend for life. The possibilities are endless in DayZ. Every encounter is a unique experience.
Beyond Survival
Build a base, cultivate a farm, hunt, fish, and place traps to protect your space. Or fix a car or truck and cruise through the wasteland with a friend, searching for high-tier loot at various dynamic events like train crashes, abandoned military convoys, PvP hotspots, points of interest, and more. You can even find full NBC suits to enter dangerous contaminated zones. The arsenal you can search for is vast, with over 50 types of firearms available, along with their unique magazines and ammo.
It won’t be easy. And no two lives will ever be the same.

Day Z is an amazing multiplayer survival game in which you need time to grasp most of the important mechanics that the game offers. The game itself is not bad; it's a great way to play with friends and have fun encounters with other players. Don't trust anyone because they'll betray you anyway ;). Difficult but enjoyable. A solid 10/10 from me.
Its incredible! Also the one behind Instant gaming and all the team needs a raise this is unbelievable. There’s Giveaway, Cheap games for everyone Console, pc, mobile, And different platforms like steam and GOG… i love it
horrible, no loot, boring, just walking between houses to find a shirt, a jacket, get killed, repeat. Theres no crafting, no base building, there barely vehicles i guess, but all i could find were trashed
Great survival game when you get the hang of the controls great game though i love that large community but its toxic non the less honestly almost never had a issue with the mechanics besides when i started
large community with tons of servers
realistic guns, combat mechanics, and realistic health
official servers take 1 minute and 15 seconds
when blood is low it makes it black and white which is annoying
Everything in this game is awesome. Looting, questing, PVE and PVP. It's all good. This game is a masterpiece, especially if you love survival games. You definently never rage playing this game.
I had high hopes as it checked all the boxes for what I've been looking for but playing for roughly less than 2 hours of play i got bored as was playing with a friend and grew bored immediately after not being able to find my buddy. Ended up with a huge headache after getting off the game big pass from me.
Great game, virtually no bugs, and definitely worth the money. Graphics leave something to be desired, but that is to be expected from a game this old. But definitely worth it for the money. Good game
As a fan of more hardcore survival games and all, Dayz hit the spot, would recommend for anyone interested in big maps with lots of weapons and hardcore PvE.
This is kinda like bigger scale EFT and smaller scale Arma, its truly a masterpiece.
Uses your GPU more than your CPU, chances are your GPU is stronger so thats good.
Fairly friendly community
Looks great and runs very well even on max settings
Can have quite the Stutters but compared to Arma and other titles its good
very bad, total waste of my money. i have been plaing rust lately and that is soooo much better. in dayz i only managed to play 2.5 hours, no more. constantly looking for food/water. zombies kill you, find no other supplies.
i find it really strange that there is no map at all on the game, i mean. WTF?
you need to find the map online but youl first need to find a sign to say where you are... trust me dont buy this. complete waste of money
good game yes its many good game and not bad game. I like it because good game and not bad game if you know what i mean haha im many funny. Good game not bad at all only some buggy stuff and crash sometimes but its not too bad. Worth the money for good fun experience haha.
DayZ is a tough one. The vanilla game is insultingly unfinished and not worth the price at all. This game has been out for years and its still in an alpha state basically, its really bad in some places! But then theres mods.... well actually its not just the mods. Luckily, DayZ has some thriving communities to this day and if you get some mods, join a good server and group with some fun people you can have some really awesome experiences. It is so hard to rate this game because it is such a subjective experience; all games are of course, but the places this game can take you can vary so much from person to person. You have some people with thousands of hours of playtime who will tell you DayZ is videogame gold and then you can have someone who looks at the base game and rightfully calls it a piece of trash.
Trying to be honest:
I enjoyed Dayz for the first few days. Sure, technical issues here and there, but the exploration and looting were fine.
Then stuff went down quick:
I've spent the last days grinding and looting around to build some sort of base and storage. During one of my usual drives to a Milbase, my game had a brutal CTD that I have never experienced before (Excess of memory usage I suppose). I came back on a couple minutes later, just to find out that my Survivor had died, my car had despawned and my stuff, including the base, had disappeared.
Server admins couldn't help me, as stuff like this is almost normal.
I mean, I didn't spend too much money on this game, but why the hell are these technical issues still there after so much time? This is NOT how you manage a game.
Seven days, and I've already had my fill.
The "original" survival game
Way too many technical issues
Updates that force community admins to wipe servers everytime
