Description

The Crew 2 for PC is an open world racing game in which the player must range freely, exploring and racing, over a perpetual world loosely based on continental North America. Players have their choice of planes, hovercraft, boats, motorcycles and, of course, cars – including monster trucks.

The game is the sequel to the first in the series: The Crew, released in 2014.

About the Game


The game’s setting covers only those states that are found on mainland USA, so Alaska and Hawaii are not included this time. Each different vehicle type has different engineering, so the physics engines behave uniquely according to each vehicle’s design: allowing players to make fairly large changes to the end result, simply by changing the vehicle being used.

The goal is to earn followers on social media: this is how a player ‘wins’ in the game. Needless to say, follower counts spike when you actually come first in the races and events like performing stunts and similar activities.

Just Drive – or Fly or Boat


The game is especially good when you can just aimlessly tool around the countryside, exploring the famous landmarks and seeing just how fast you can get your vehicle to go.

One exceptionally cool feature is that you can change your vehicle right in the middle of the action, at the touch of a button. You could be blasting across the Nevada desert and decide you need a change, and within a fraction of a second, be blasting across a lake on a motorboat or soaring into the sky in a small plane.

Ways to Race


There are a total of four different hub-worlds, in which the racing style varies and with a different opponent/ mentor for each style. They are:
  • Street Racing: Aided by Latrell, if ‘aided’ is the right word for advice like ‘street racing is wrong’ and injunctions to go back to the track, this style of racing adds some spice to your racing mojo. Tear down streets avoiding obstacles and get to your destination before the opposition to win. Some obstacles can be knocked down without harming you – such as lampposts – but walls and other objects are immovable and will cause you to crash out

  • Pro Racing: Alexis helps out, and just as well as these races must be completed in three different vehicles! From a touring car to a powerboat to an Alpha GP vehicle, make sure you change vehicles at the right point and put your foot down to score a win

  • Off-Road Racing: Tucker ‘Tuck’ Morgan shows you how to do it in this tense round where you are given a start point and an end point: the route you take can be entirely up to you!

  • Free-style Racing: Sofia and her dad oversee this round where you start out in a boat, switching to a car halfway through. This is one of the more challenging levels as the vehicles are hard to handle and the course is very precisely marked: going out of bounds can slow you down a lot

    • All these types of racing can be done solo (which is basically multiplayer but with AI companions), cooperative multiplayer or oppositional multiplayer, depending on the way you prefer to play.

    I bought the game just a bit before it was on sale for 1€ on steam which is kinda sad but its okay, the game overall is fun and not that hard. The handling isnt really the best but you still have a big variety of different types of races and vehicles you can use!

    it was my first pc racing game, and im very satisfied, its such a great game an di have spent so much time with it.

    i highly recomand for anyone interested into small chill racing games, it wont be the best game if your searching for realism bu i do think its perfect for me !

    The Crew 2 is a fantastic racing game, it runs smoothly on my old PC, and even better on my new one. This game is good if you like racing games, no matter if your PC is a budget gamer or a stronger one. There is a lot to do in the game, and it doesent get boring.

    Good game, like it very much, i play it a lot alone and with friends, there is so much stuff to do, even when you finish all races, you have weekly events and you get prizes for it, you can race online and more.

    Great game, alot of stuff to do. Physics improved from the crew. Graphics pretty good except for the tall buildings. Best motornation game out there. Super fun with friends. 9/10. All DLC will be free and there will be 2 new cars every month and every 3 month a new discipline (sport) will be added.

    I played the game for 5 months straight and I rerally had fun. Until then I played 250 hours on Playstation and hardly 500 hours on PC and I had no fun playing this game anymore, because there are not really updates I really appreciate. Im really looking forward when the Crew 3 is released.

    God what a mistake that was to buy this game. Probably the worst driving physics in a AAA game i had the displeasure to come across. If you want a good multiplayer game abt racong just get FH4, wich is brilliant.

    Not work your time. Buy better Need For Speed Heat. Its nearly the same game, but its more playable than The Crew 2. But if you want real Race Simulator than Assetto corsa would be the best choic. And when you want a Open World Race Simulator with campaing than get Forza Horizon 4!

    I love the game an the way its made, nut im not a huge fan of the sounds that the cars make. And the way th game is build up relly shows that they put some time in it. I would highly recomend you to buy this game.

    They thought that adding 3 transportation simulations would make the game look more exciting. It is not. Each one of the simulations looks like one of those B rated racing games.

    Story looks so uninteresting it made me do something I was always against - skipping a scene. Can you imagine a racing game with a story of getting social network followers? Why is that concept so popular in today's video games? A classic story of antagonists and protagonists would be enough for me, instead we have some degenerate low quality Instagram following story.

    With a budget like that it delivered nothing but boredom.
