Description

DiRT Rally for PC is a car racing video game that simulates rally driving. It is a comprehensive game with a large choice of cars, routes and even distances to choose between.

About the Game


The game begins far from any road or track as you choose and customise your car. There are seventeen vehicles to choose from initially, going up dramatically to high double figures with models from three decades, various classes and sixteen manufacturers, once you have included all the add-ons and expansion packs.

Once chosen, you can spend a fair amount of time and effort improving your choice and designing the perfect rally car of your dreams, with up to ten choices of livery per car. Each vehicle handles slightly differently – not enough for play to become frustrating or tricky, but enough that you will have fun picking the perfect driving ‘feel’ for your ideal rally car.

Unlike previous driving games released by the same creators, this game has an entirely new, built from scratch physics engine to provide a realistic and fun, yet moderately challenging drive.

Drive Carefully!


You must try to look after your vehicle in this game because, as tough as rally cars can be, this game has incorporated all the issues and problems that come with real life rallying! This means that your radiator will overheat, exploding dramatically into a cloud of steam if you are not careful to keep an eye on it.

Punctures and blow outs happen on poor roads and with rough driving, leaving you eating your opponent’s dust and regretting that over enthusiastic cornering!

Driving Locations


There are a wide number of authentic rallying locations included in the game, all recreated beautifully and carefully so you can try out your favourite tracks without getting into trouble of any kind:

  • Argolis: in the heart of the Peloponnesian peninsula, this Greek track is set against blue skies, bluer seas and gorgeously sunny terrain

  • Monte Carlo: the heart of speed racing – the entire city shuts down for the Formula One – it is not surprising that rallying goes on here too

  • Powys: a proud ancient kingdom in deep Wales, this area boasts lush green hills, tricky curves and lots and lots of sheep

  • Baumholder: Germany is famous for its speed limit free autobahns, so there is no surprise that speed freaks from all over the world hit these streets to try their luck and test their nerve against fellow adrenaline junkies

  • Jamsa: Finland’s fjords and snowy plains make for an interesting drive and a lively change from clouds of desert dust kicked up by your passage

  • Varmland: Norway’s mountainous and notoriously torturous scenery will keep your adrenaline high and your sweat flowing as you navigate this ancient land, glimpses of outstanding views threatening to distract your attention from the road

    • Later, following an agreement with FIA World Rallycross Championship bigwigs, three more courses were added to the game

    These were: namely Holjesbanan a Swedish racing circuit, near the border with Norway and situated in an almost rural locale so you can speed away without worrying about the populace; Lankebanen in Norway, which is near Hell and that is all you need to know about that; and the Lydden Hill Race Circuit from the south of England, near Kent.

    Love this game. The graphics and the physics of the vehicle motion are excellent and surpass most of the other similar options available by miles. In addition, it works extremely well with MacOS, and I have it teamed with an old Logitech GT Force steering Wheel and pedals and its so much fun. Also great for the grandies.

    Great and solid gaming experience.I play on a ps4 controller which feels great(everything manual) and cannot imagine how much better it will be with a racing wheel. It is hard don't be mistaken but very rewarding once you understand how each car behaves, once you master the controls and get the car to do exactly what you want to. Oh and a small tip/suggestion to people like me who always preferred the chasing camera on racing games, do a couple of races with cockpit camera(drivers perspective) totally different feel and saying it in the best way possible.Maybe a bit hard at first but ultimately better sense of speed and control in my opinion. It may work for you too.

    I really like this game I had so much fun playing it and I would buy it again if i had to. I would recommend it to rally lovers and racing lovers. Great game, good work I will probably buy other Dirt products.

    Dirt games in general, they are one of it's kind at rally games, the graphics, the gameplay the controls are awesome and very joyfull. Im not into rally games or so, but Dirt games are one of my favorites of all time.

    Now i'll talk about "Dirt Rally". As a player i want "easy" games just to spend my time with fun, i was raised with arcade machines and played games like Cabal, Double Dragon Cadilacs And Dinosaurs etc etc, and this is why i want games a little bit simple and not headaches. I dont play many hours and i dont keep playing when i can't pass a stage or mission...

    BUT with that game i have break my personal record, i might have play 25 times to pass a stage at the begining, and keep playing with the same mood!

    The graphics, the gameplay and controls are super realistic, the sounds of the car, of the ground, you can even hear the rocks hiting the car. I think that im addicted to this game, and i play it for a year +.

    I surelly suggest it to everyone, have patience at the beginning until you find out and learn how to drive, you will get rewarded.

    Game is really great from driving to enviroment. Complete rally world is astonishing and perfectly balanced in game. Damage on cars is perfected, too bad I am baad in this game cause I got used to more arcade style and this is suuuper simulated driving. Nice

    Well i started the game with good emotions and then after a couple of hours i deleted it because the Ai even on easy is terribly faster than you also the cars handle like they are going straight to the otherworld

    Amazing game! The physics feel almost real. You can really feel the terrain and every bump. Any small mistake and your car is in a tree. It's a bit old but it is still amazing! Can't wait until DiRT Rally 2.0!

    Very great game, that will be ideal with steering wheel.
    In the beginning all thoughts are about non-comfortable controls and you ready to switch on gamepad/keyboard, but after some hours realization comes that wheel is the best way to control car 'cause of:
    - streering control on straight or in corners
    - throttle control.

    Great rally game. Been a fan of the Dirt games since the first one came out, this one takes it to another level! Way more realistic than the last couple of games, also way harder, I used to be able to win Races on the hardest difficulty on Dirt 3, but I already have trouble with the first couple of races on this one, didn't think it was that difficult! But overall, an amazing racing sim!

    The perfect rally simulation, designed for everyone who loves a realistic glimpse of a gigantic rally ride, provides great satisfaction during all stages.
    I'm very glad that Codemasters seriously worked on the preparation and realization of this perfect rally simulation. Highly recommended !

    Finally, Codemasters provided a decent game after the dark age of gymkhana and other mostly disliked sh1t. This is a PROPER rally game, its not RBR3, but still much more than this casual era games could offer. A must, if you are a rally fan.

    It one of the best rally games of the DiRT franchise. The graphics look amazing, the handling is awsome and I think people won't regret if they try this game out. Ask a friend or something like that to see if you like it. Then buy it!

    This is the game we've all been hoping for. I got it in early access a few months back and it was the best decision I made. What a game! This brings me back to the first Colin McRae Rally games, where it was all about rally and all about fun. Now you get that, plus the extreme realism, which makes the game very hard, but extremely satisfying as well.The game runs smoothly in my pc and, I believe, in most computers. Graphics are spot and gameplay, as said, brilliant. There are lots of challenges, either on or offline, but not exactly a career/story mode. You're not a driver climbing ranks or whatever. Your objective is, other than having fun, participating in rallies to earn money to buy cars and other perks, so you can enter new championships. There's normal rally, the official rally cross championship and Pikes Peak. The stages are finally big, so you must be very carefull with your driving, because there isn't any of the "back in time" feature the previous games had. You really must learn to drive. And that's the fun part!
