About the Game


The first thing to know about this game is that despite the almost simultaneous release of the latest film in the Terminator franchise the two are not related at all, even though they both occur around thirty years after the events of Judgement Day.

The new film brings back Arnie, Linda Hamilton and Ed Furlong as the Terminator, the gutsy protagonist and her son, respectively, as they battle one of the liquid Terminators for the survival of a young woman and her human-cyborg hybrid friend. It can be said to be a true sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day, while the other films in the series are said to be alternate timeline versions of events.

This game, on the other hand, while set at around the same time as the new film, seems to have been written as an alternative narrative to the above: set at around the same time as the new film, but with massive differences in the plot and story arcs. It uses the first two films as back story, and builds from there – much as the story-writers for the new movie must have done!

What’s the Story?


You take the avatar of a soldier, Jake Rivers, a private in the Resistance Pacific Division, whose day is suddenly worsened when for some reason Skynet suddenly marks him down for execution. He is rescued by a gutsy band of heroes and is impelled to make his stand alongside them as the futuristic events of the movies begin to play out.

The cut scenes lead you snappily through the opening moments and any inter-mission events, providing something of a tutorial along the way as you learn why you are battling and what is at stake (your life, is the short answer!), as well as who your friends are.

There are several ways to play. You can follow story arcs, acting out scenes (and influencing them with your actions as you go along) to resolve quests, or you can play short side quests to help your new friends get hold of equipment, achieve missions and recue compatriots.

Each of your new companions is richly detailed with back stories and personalities that are unique to them. This makes game play particularly compelling especially when you are helping them out with their personal quests, because it gives their characters a richness and depth that players will feel drawn to, almost as though they are helping out a real life buddy.

  • You will be battling, amongst other enemies, T-800s, the original villainous terminator turned helped for the second film, but they are comfortingly stripped of their human appearances, seeming to be red-eyed metal skeletons in this incarnation. Which, if nothing else, makes them easy to spot and bad guys and it makes blowing them to smithereens even more fun!

  • You will enjoy a powerful range of plasma weaponry that can blast enemies away in a most satisfying fashion

  • The world is cruel and poorly supplied in this time: you will need to constantly scavenge for supplies, gathering resources, weapons and more in order to aid your survival against the machine

    One of the best if not the best Terminator game. This is purest love letter to Terminator and Terminator 2 movie fans. If you're one of them then you are for one of a hell ride. You want to know how Terminator 3 started...look no further cause this is Terminator 3.

    I still can't believe this game was made from the developers who made Rambo the video game. It only shows how they evolved in a possitive way. I love when developers do that. These guys are passionate about Terminator franchise and showed how its made to whole world.

    From good story and gameplay to amazing soundtrack this rollercoaster was not what I expected. It delivered so much and beyond. You fight for resistance and need to secure our humanity future. In apocalyptic word you fight for survival. You are the one who needs to save our world. Its like playing movie the video game but in a good way not those ♥♥♥♥ hollywood movies they keep making couple of years and fail every time. Environment is amazing, you feel like you on thread cause there is nowhere to hide. Even shelter can be your next grave if you are not careful.

    Fighting against machines is so satisfying. You see a lot of them and they are brutal. From flying drones and ships to T800 and tanks. I love how you feel helpless in the begining against T800 and your guns can do jack damage until you get plasma guns. Then the fun starts. Thou from middle and especially at the end you feel like terminator yourself cause how strong your weapons are. I wish they town down them a bit. Non the less the last mission was so outstanding and phenomenal.

    One of the best soundtrack I heard this year is opening menu music of original Terminator theme. Trough all game you hear a lot of amazing music not only this original soundtrack. They nailed it.

    This is what happens when developers love their game with passion and create something unexpected. I highly recommend this game.

    As a lifelong Terminator fan i was hoping a game would come along that would be as much fun as watching one of the movies. This game is it. Is the game perfect? No, but it does give you the look, sounds and feel of a Terminator movie. Your first encounter of the t-800's is really cool. Just don't let one of them see you or else you won't be back.

    So far i have put enough hours into the game to know that i want to and will finish it. I'm liking the story and the quests. Playing the free dlc as the Terminator is a fun experience. My best advice to you is to lose yourself in the game and try not to compare it to Call of duty or others like it. This isn't those games, this is a Terminator game and it's the best Terminator game since Robocop vs the Terminator. Enjoy.

    Terminator makes really a lot of fun. It's a small budget game but you feel the love of the developers for this game. Game play is good, characters have more deep then thought and it's the really the Terminator future scenery what we saw in the first 2 films. Graphics are not the best but ok. If you like Terminator you probably will like the game
