Description

MotoGP 21 for PC is a motorsport simulation game. This game adds to the previous game in the series, MotoGP 20, including improvements to the suspension system which makes the road bumps and braking feel so much more realistic – make sure you hook up your controllers rather than your keyboard if you can!

About the Game


One of the best parts of the new game is the tutorial mode. It is great, a big improvement on the previous game which more or less expected you to sort yourself out. There are plenty of playable tutorials to help you master the likes of electronic systems, engine brake, anti-wheelie, traction control, aerodynamics.

Another change is that in this version of the game, you don’t respawn directly onto your bike, as in previous incarnations, instead you must jog over to your bike and manually heave it up and hop on – a small detail that adds a nice amount of verisimilitude to matters – although it is annoying that AI competitors respawn onto their bikes and can be a dust cloud before you’ve even found your bike!

Just like in the real world, you have to accept a long lap penalty for mischiefs – such as track limit violations or false starts – which adds to the real-world authenticity of the game. Bikes and tracks are updated in line with their real world counterparts and you can customise your bike your way with stickers, colours and so much more.

The Nitty Gritty


There is a steep learning curve, but the game is very beginner friendly due to the above-mentioned tutorials. You can rewind certain points too, which allows you to take back rash, crash-inducing thoughtlessness. If you’re a purist who likes to stand by their decisions, you can toggle off all of this help!

Brake management is important in this game, to prevent braking failures while too cold or overheating both of which can affect the responsivity of your bike. There’s lots of back door stuff to be getting on with off the tracks too, such as Research & Development, generally working to improve your bike’s performance, establishing and managing a junior team, and researching upgrades.

You can play career mode solo or online; the latter of which allows you to set up single one-off races against other online players. With career mode, you can follow an exact real life racing career, or you can give yourself a more tailored experience.

With the addition of the Algarve track, from Portugal, you can now race on any of the twenty real-life courses, including some historic tracks that are great for a nostalgic race or two. You have a choice of around 120 rides over 20 tracks, giving you a huge range of bikes, which includes some vintage beauties.

In this game there are a number of riding aids which can be set high for an easy ride or low for a more challenging go of it. These include:

  • The previously mentioned rewind facility

  • Throttle and braking input modulation which makes for a smoother ride

  • Cornering assist which makes the bike swoop divinely from side to side without over-tipping or wobbling. Do note, though, that balance is now a big part of the game and must be mastered before you can perform to your best

    The game itself is really good, of course, compared to MotoGP 20, the physics are harder, but not horrendous. Yes, the game is hard, yes it takes multiple hours/days to master, still a very good game.

    It's a very hard game to master. The graphics are very nice though. I think you would like if it was a bit easier. What makes it hard, is that you have to precisly time when to turn/ lean in to the next corn, and this needs to happen a long time before the corner in some places. I don't think i will be playing it for long. i am soon giving up and it is my first day of owning it. It is just so fustrating. Think i will stick to just F1 Games

    This is just a magnificent game, what a wonder! Great game when making you feel like you are inside the race, great controls, great graphics, just an awesome game all around, a great buy for sure! Recommend!

    I haven't bought the game yet but it sure will be better than the other moto gp and I know it's more complicated than the others but it's more simulation. And then I want to increase the score because there are people who rate it badly when they do not know that the bad is themselves
