The games with unforgettable stories worth playing in 2025

Video games are capable of telling fascinating stories filled with emotion and twists and turns. Thanks to their highly realistic visual graphics, next-generation titles have nothing to envy the best films of the moment.

Without further ado, we're going to reveal our list of the 15 must-have narrative games of 2025. Dramas, adventures, science fiction, horrific experiences and post-apocalyptic worlds await you.

Sony has always been at the forefront of narrative gaming, with gripping exclusives such as The Last of Us, Uncharted 4 and Ghost of Tsushima. The Japanese manufacturer has always succeeded in bringing a great deal of emotion into its games, all while creating unforgettable characters.

For its part, Quantic Dream has created some truly interactive films, with their own unique staging. Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain are both perfect examples of this. These stand out despite their rather basic QTE-based gameplay.

And games don't need to be linear to tell a compelling story. The undisputed masters of making great stories fit into an open-world are undoubtedly Rockstar Games and CD Projekt RED. These two companies have delivered some of the most memorable titles of recent years with Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3.
