October continues to be packed with new releases, featuring games that range from some of the biggest franchises ever to quirky indie titles. From a new generation of management games to horror adventures, completely wacky cooperative experiences, and a few unexpected comebacks, players will once again have a wonderful variety of experiences to discover. Without further ado, let’s take a look at our second selection of the best new releases, covering from October 10 to 20.

New Games

Just Dance: Decades of Hits celebrates several generations of music by bringing together tracks ranging from the 1970s to today’s hits, enough to get you back on the dance floor, whether you’re playing by yourself or with friends. Raccoons take over the trash cans for a cooperative adventure that’s as zany as it is physical in Trash Day. Up to six players can scavenge their surroundings, fill a stolen shopping cart, and use a variety of tools to overcome the obstacles in their path.

After letting players create their own animal parks in the first game, Planet Zoo 2 aims to take the formula even further. In addition to the familiar zoo mechanics from its predecessor, this installment focuses on preserving entire species through nature reserves. New aquatic and flying species also make their debut, featuring in massive pools and aviaries.

Total War: Shogun 2 Complete Edition brings one of the most beloved installments of the famous strategy series up to date with an updated version. Speaking of remasters still, Disney Pixar Toy Story 3 Complete Edition brings back Woody, Buzz, and Jessie in a modernized version of the game inspired by the 2010 film, even featuring a two-player co-op mode to explore in addition to the main adventure.

Meanwhile, the first-person souls-like Valor Mortis plunges players into an alternate version of 19th-century Europe ravaged by a mysterious epidemic. Staying with the action genre, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 revisits the retro formula of its predecessor, once again plunging the Space Marines into a veritable pixelated bloodbath.

In a different genre, Nomad Drive transforms the RV into a true mobile base in the heart of a procedurally generated post-apocalyptic world. Whether playing solo or with up to four players in co-op, you’ll need to gather resources, upgrade your vehicle, and survive as long as possible on each expedition.

DLC

This period from October 10 to 20, leaves only one interesting DLC, but it’s a big one. Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown makes the action-RPG’s adventure even larger by introducing new quests, an improved housing system, and even maritime exploration with ships and even diving. This expansion is part of an effort to enhance the original experience with new ways to explore, following the addition of numerous languages to the game’s voiceovers a few weeks ago.

Ports

This is also an ideal time for the Switch 2, which is receiving numerous ports. First up are the excellent It Takes Two and the highly satisfying House Flipper 2, offering colorful and home-renovation-focused experiences to those who are interested.

Following an initial release earlier this year of installments 7, 8, and 9 of the franchise on Nintendo’s new console, the excellent Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 are now also coming out. Fans will once again be able to reunite with beloved protagonists such as Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, and Jill Valentine.

This second installment of our selection of the best games for October 2026 confirms that the month definitely isn’t slowing down. From the nostalgia of certain franchises to more unsettling worlds and cooperative experiences, there’s something for just about everyone. Stay tuned for our third (and final) installment coming very soon to discover the rest of this month’s must-watch releases!
