The best coop games (Part 3)

After checking out our first two lists of the best co-op games, it's now time to discover the third. This selection features games that are very different from each other, but they all offer a superb co-op experience in their own way. Whether you're a fan of thrilling adventures, intense survival games, or simply horror, there's something for everyone.

We start with the excellent A Way Out. Released in 2018, this is an exclusive co-op title, meaning that two players are required to play on a split screen. You play as two prisoners who escape from prison and experience a myriad of emotions that become part of the story. A must-play in this genre!

If you're looking for more of an open-world experience, Grounded lets you shrink to the size of an ant and try to survive in a garden where insects have become giants. For something more exotic, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora takes place on the magnificent planet of Pandora. There's nothing more enjoyable than killing evil humans and flying over lush jungles on the back of ikrans.

Still in the realm of huge maps to explore, a little parkour and zombies await in Dying Light and Dying Light 2. Thrills are guaranteed, whether they come from the terrifying nights in these two titles or the dizzying heights you'll have to climb. Those who suffer from vertigo should beware, as the sensations feel particularly real! The atmosphere is still dark in Little Nightmares 3 and even Sker Ritual, a horrific roguelike FPS inspired by the zombie modes of certain major franchises. Survival is organized in waves, and objectives to complete on the maps will prove challenging.

Let's leave the undead behind for a while and move on to something more cheerful. Human Fall Flat is a platform game based on deliberately clumsy physics. The puzzles are solved by several players and trigger a lot of laughter. Unrailed! is a chaotic game where the team builds a railroad track while a train moves forward continuously. While the principle may seem simple, the execution and organization required to craft and lay the railroad tracks are on a whole other level.

Finally, Mimesis is a coop horror game based on doubt and deception. The creatures in the game mimic the players' voices and sow confusion. As a result, optimal communication between players is essential in this social experience full of surprises. Check it out!
