The most underrated games (part 4)

The most underrated games (part 4)

In the shadow of blockbusters and releases that dominate the gaming scene, some games struggle to get the recognition they deserve. Whether they suffered from a low-key launch, insufficient marketing, or simply competition from other more popular titles, these games nonetheless offer experiences capable of surprising, entertaining, and sometimes even surpassing the most hyped titles in their genre. This new selection of underrated games, curated by us, therefore highlights these titles that—each in its own way—deserve far more attention.

With its concept blending strategy, dominoes, and deckbuilding in a roguelike format, Zoominoes transforms simple mechanics into a genuinely enjoyable little brain teaser. Its charming art style and accessible approach make it a title that deserves to reach a much wider audience. Dead as Disco offers a quirky experience that blends action, humor, and a deliberately zany atmosphere, with a distinctive enough identity to stand out from the crowd

The spin-off Temtem: Swarm transposes the Temtem universe into a format similar to a survival-style roguelite, with hordes of enemies to face and progression based on successive upgrades. Atlas Fallen was sometimes too quickly dismissed for its imperfect polish at launch, even though it has several remarkable qualities. Its very fluid movement, dynamic combat, and desert setting offer a mix of interesting elements to discover.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice remains one of the most impressive games when it comes to telling an intimate story through video games. Its oppressive atmosphere, cinematography, and exceptional sound design combine to create a particularly memorable experience that’s well worth playing even several years after its release.

When it comes to vehicles, Wreckfest is much more fun than it seems, with its particularly well-executed physics and races where destroying vehicles is an integral part of the fun. Far from the frenzy of traditional racing games, SnowRunner transforms the simple act of driving into a true adventure. The challenging progression, the difficult terrain, and the satisfaction of successfully delivering a cargo where it seemed impossible offer a unique experience, especially in co-op mode.

By blending humor and the wacky world of Borderlands with the conventions of fantasy role-playing games, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands had everything it needed to appeal to fans of loot and cooperative adventure. Its concept remains particularly effective, and its class, loot, and character creation systems offer enough depth to more than justify giving it another chance.
